Eye Believe this new formula is worlds better than the original version!

Product Rating:
Pros: Very concentrated, lightweight, silky, velvety, blurs fine lines, firms
Cons: Little tube seems like less than .5 ounce, not a heavy night cream
The Bottom Line: Unique formula makes your eye area feel like silk. Blurs lines, brightens, hydrates, and works very well with its sister cream, Hope in Tube Eye and Lip Firming Cream.
PattyTherre's Full Review: Philosophy Eye Believe Deep Wrinkle Peptide Balm
Philosophy likes to keep names of products cute and simple but sometimes, things can get confusing when they have two products with the same name or discontinue one and make another but leave the name exactly the same.
Such is the case with Eye Believe Eye Cream. I wrote a review on Eye Believe when it was in the tub and a gel based light cream. I was not impressed. However, I am very impressed with the new and improved Eye Believe which, for the record is actually called Philosophy Eye Believe Deep Wrinkle Peptide Balm and is in a .5 oz tube.
Now that we got that out of the way, let's take a look at this new eye cream.
The Official Word
Philosophy says
philosophy: what you believe is what you become
peptide combination treatment helps restore the appearance of firmness to the skin ... instantly helps smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles ... encourages overall brightening of the eye area ... unique anhydrous formula feels like velvet on the skin
The Packaging
This Eye Believe comes boxed and is in a .5 ounce tube with a long end and a very small opening. Both the box and the tube are in classic Philosophy colors: White and black. The box has the word "Believe" in light blue as does the tube. The tube is white with mostly black lettering and a black screw on/screw off cap with the word Believe in light blue. The philosophical saying for this product is "What you believe is what you become" which I think is exactly the same as what was and is on the gel based tub Eye Believe Eye Cream
My Experience
I use Philosophy's Hope in a Tube Eye and Lip Firming Cream because it comes in the Philosophy skin care kit that I get auto shipped but it isn't my eye cream of choice by any means. So, when I saw that Philosophy came out with a new cream for wrinkles, I just had to try it. I don't have any deep lines (but do have fine lines) around my eyes and I am working like crazy to keep it that way. I am always trying new eye creams to see what effect they have on the look and overall youthfulness of my eye area.
I was skeptical because I haven't been too pleased with Philosophy's eye treatments but I bit the bullet and paid $30.00 for the new Eye Believe.
The cream is incredibly different from anything I have used before. It is a pearly white color and has a velvety texture. Indeed, it is a balm more than a cream. When applied around the eyes, it feels like silk. It isn't greasy or heavy at all and it slides on so silky that it reminds me a little of some silicone fillers I have tried (and discarded because they were too much bother).
The area around my eyes is immediately softer, silkier, and hydrated. By no means is this a thick, rich night cream but for day, this one is just amazing. You can use the Hope in a Tube Eye and Lip Firming Cream after and the two work wonderfully together. In addition, this is a great cream for before make up application because it fills in tiny lines, smoothes the under eye surface and isn't greasy so cosmetics remain firmly in place rather than sliding around.
I use heavy under eye concealers and I need extra hydrated eyes so that the concealer doesn't look cakey. Despite the lightweight feel, Eye Believe gets the job done and provides somewhat of a smooth barrier between my delicate eye area and harsh concealers.
You only need about a small pea sized drop of the cream to cover both eyes. Using any more is overkill. The softening and silkening effect is produced with just a touch of the cream. Although you need very little cream per application, for some reason the tube seems to have less product than a .5 ounce tub of eye cream. I am not sure if that is just a perception or what but it seems like a very scant amount although traditionally I use .5 ounce jars of eye cream and they last for months. This seems like it won't last more than maybe two. Weird.
The cream is odorless and totally non irritating. I have been suffering with eye irritation and some products have caused stinging and burning even though they never did before. This cream causes absolutely no problems for my poor, weary eyes.
Tiny lines seem to blur, the skin around my eyes seems more supple, and I don't get the "eye cream blurs" that I often get when I wear contact lenses and use heavier eye creams.
This is NOT the original Eye Believe just in tube form. This formulation is completely different and made especially to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines and restore firmness around the eyes. Although the directions say to apply around the eye area and the upper lip area, I don't use it on my lip area. I never understood the thinking behind using an eye cream on the upper lip. Plus, at $30 for a tiny tube, I'll stick with just the eye area for the sake of my wallet!
Together, Philosophy Hope in a Tube Eye and Lip Firming Cream, which focuses on long term repair, and the new Eye Believe in a tube, which is more of an immediate temporary results type of formula with some long term benefits, work really well to make even my very dry eye area look plumper, firmer, smoother, hydrated, and brighter.
It's so unique and so soothing yet so different from any cream I tried. I definitely will continue to use it and even plan to pick up another new eye product Philosophy just came out with in a tube called Dark Shadows (New formulation). Between all my favorite creams, my eyes should look 20 when I am 80! Now if I could find the magic formula for the rest of me to look that way
Philosophy Eye Believe Deep Wrinkle Peptide Balm is available on the Philosophy website as well at many online beauty and higher end drugstore sites. It is available wherever Philosophy products are sold offline. The price is $30.00 everywhere.
Conclusion
Obviously, Philosophy's been listening to me moan about their lack of good eye creams for people who want and need something to address lines and aging. Or maybe they just jumped on the anti aging eye cream bandwagon. Whichever is fine with me. I really like this new formula and will use it regularly along with the Hope in a Tube Firming Eye and Lip Cream (the two work very well together with the Eye Believe under the Firming Eye and Lip Cream).
This cream is not heavy nor is it one for people who like super rich and heavy creams (which I usually do) but it has a very special texture and feel to it and it brightens the eye area, blurs fine lines, and hydrates all while staying light and velvety smooth.
If you're still looking for that certain eye cream to use daily, I suggest this one. It's really quite an innovation. I give this 4 stars. I would be glad to toss on another star if Philosophy would drop the price down to $20.00. Can't hurt to try, right? Ha!
