| daisymae76's Full Review: Philosophy Gingerbread Man Body Souffle |
My husband knew he was going to buy me beauty products this year for Christmas. On my list were many Philosophy products and we have no where that sells Philosophy products near us. So I steered him toward drugstore.com and their recent offer. Purchase 2 Philosophy products and get the Philosophy The Gingerbread Man Body Souffle free. I guess he liked my idea because on Christmas morning, I woke up to find a small jar of Philosophy The Gingerbread Man Body Souffle in my stocking which absolutely thrilled me.

Price and Packaging
I only received a 3.5 oz. jar, but the full size product is 7.5 oz. It comes in a round clear plastic jar with a black screw off lid. The jar has a cute picture of a gingerbread man on it and black lettering.
It sells for $30. I believe it is a seasonal product so if you are interested in purchasing, you might want to do it quickly before it disappears. Both philosophy.com and drugstore.com have the souffle in stock. If you are like me and must layer your scents, you can also purchase the philosophy the gingerbread man, ginger ale foaming bubble bath & shower gel and philosophy the gingerbread man hot salt scrub. I haven't tried the shower gel, but I adore the scrub.

My Experience
I was a little surprised when I first opened mar jar of The Gingerbread Man Body Souffle. I expected the caramel color, but was a little surprised by the consistency. It has the look and feel of butterscotch pudding. I expected a more whipped up cream or something a little more solid. It is definitely nothing like the body butters or whipped souffles I'm used to using.
My first impression when I took a sniff was that it smelled very much like Origins popular ginger line. It had a nice spicy ginger scent. The scent changed a little once I applied it to my skin and I actually like it much better on me than in the jar. The scent goes from a strictly spicy ginger scent to a wonderful clean, fresh, citrusy ginger scent. It is much lighter and fresher on me than in the jar. I really really love the scent on my skin. In fact, I prefer this scent over my Origins ginger products.
The souffle is not as rich or thick as other souffles or body butters. It is lighter and does not provide as much moisture as I thought it would. I'd say it's just a little better than average as a moisturizer. When I wear a heavier body butter for example, I don't need to reapply anything until the next day, but with The Gingerbread Man Body Souffle, my skin is a little dry by the end of the day and I could reapply before bed.
The souffle does feel very very nice going on. It is a lighter moisturizer and goes on very smoothly. It absorbs instantly and my skin feels very soft and silky. And don't forget about the heavenly scent that covers your skin. That's the best part and I'm often caught sniffing myself throughout the day.
Final Thoughts
If you are a fan of Philosophy products and ginger scents, then you will like The Gingerbread Man Body Souffle. If you have very dry skin, you may not find this meets your needs, but for everyone else, it's a nice moisturizer.
