Pros: long-lasting pleasant smell and taste.
Cons: the $10 price tag
Lip balm is an obsession for and the search for the best one has been long and hard. I?ve used balms that have ranged from greasy to dry. This all changed the day I walked into sephora and ran across philosophy products. From lip balms to foot scrubs philosophy has taken care of my beauty needs.
So, what is Philosophy??
Philosophy is a brand of products that has had a cult like following that includes celebs like Lara Fylnn boyle and Drew Barrymore. The products use "natural" ingredients and also have catchy play on words for their brand names. Each product comes in a see through clear container with a black screw on top. Black letters detail the ingredients and the little phrases. For example Kiss Me's philosophy states, "the road to intimacy is lots of kissing."
Description of Kiss Me
My .5 ounce Kiss me tube holds a nice consistency of orange lip balm. It squeezes out of a small hole and I must warn the first time i squeezed too much out in my haste to get this stuff on my lips. Its scent and taste is slightly citrus based and i know your thinking, taste? No, I didn't just start eating it but accidentally l licked my lips and noticed that I didn't feel like I just licked foul tasting stamps. The product contains kiwi oil and I suspect that where the taste comes from. The smell is an added fragrance, and necessarily naturally in the product but even still its not obtrusive in the lest and is one of my favorite things about kiss me.
Philosophy's application description states, "melt into lips at least twice a day. begin saying really nice thins to someone you love, and don't forget to kiss." That is really cheesy, so let me explain what I did with applying Kiss Me. I put in onto my lips 2-3 times a day. Kiss Me is really long lasting and I found that after I ate, I usually put some more on.
So whats it feel like?
When melted on your lips, Kiss Me immediately starts working. It made my lips soft and moisturized and a little slippery, something I like my lip balms to accomplish. I noticed that unlike MAC glasswear, Kiss Me manages to refrain from being waxy and sticky, something that i have encountered with expensive lip gloss/balm. Kiss Me spreads evenly and smooth without coating you r fingers enough to finger paint with the local kids group.
Philosophy also offers a red tinted version, which is really dark in the jar but light on the lips. It added a rosy tint to my lips, which I think is perfect for people who hate wearing lipstick. Philosophy has succeeded in making a indulgent product that when applied adds gloss and moisture to even the driest lips.
Kiss Me costs ten dollars (gasp!) but to me it was a good two month investment. Ten dollars may seem a lot for lip balm but good products are never really cheap. UI say buy it and f you don't like it sell it on eBay to get your money back.
