Do I have a great husband or what? We celebrated early this year and he bought me the Philosophy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream 3 in one Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath. The verdict? This product really is as yummy as an ice cream cone!

General Information
Philosophy is a line of somewhat upscale skincare products including these 3 in 1 products, perfume sprays, and moisturizing lotions. For the 3 in 1 products, most offer yummy food scents. Varieties include Pumpkin Pie, Coconut Milk, Cinnamon Buns, and Vanilla Cupcake. These products can be found many places, including sephora.com, philosophy.com, or at drugstore.com, sometimes for a slight discount. The packaging is very attractive and includes a recipe for mint chocolate chip printed on the outside of the clear bottle. My product came in a 16 oz. bottle and the price was $16.00. This is just a little more expensive than comparable body wash by Bath & Body Works if broken down by ounces.

The product I purchased is one of Philosophy’s 3 in 1 Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath varieties. I already own a similar product, the Strawberry Milkshake flavored 3 in 1 Shampoo, Body Wash, and Bubble Bath. I’m not sure if the formulas are different since one has a conditioner and the other a bubble bath, but I definitely enjoy the Mint Chocolate Chip more so I will be purchasing the products that include the bubble bath in their titles in the future.

Body Wash/Bubble Bath Functions
I am a sucker for a good body wash. This is why I have five open at the moment, dominating the area around the tub. I take a lot of showers and love to indulge in a yummy scent. I’ve been very pleased with the Body Wash function of this Mint Chocolate Chip product. The scent is YUMMY. It truly smells like a tub of its namesake ice cream. Somehow the mint scent leaves me feeling fresher than the Strawberry Milkshake one I had previously been using.

I love the thick, creamy feel of the gel and it foams up pretty well whether used as a shower gel or a bubble bath. This seems to work slightly better as a shower gel than a bubble bath, which is fine with me because I take many more showers than baths. Squeezing this product in a body pouf creates a nice, thick, creamy lather.

Shampoo Function
As was my complaint with the Strawberry Milkshake 3 in 1 product, this is not a very good shampoo. I have tried washing my hair with this and styling normally a couple of times. There must not be enough moisturizer or something because the result is flat hair with lots and lots of static. At least it smells yummy! I would use this in a pinch or when I only wanted to pack one bottle, but definitely not as a regular shampoo. This doesn’t bother me much because I have a shampoo I like a lot and wasn’t really looking for a replacement.

Overall…
Philosophy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream is a really yummy and luxurious body wash that I’m enjoying a lot. I think the smell is great and I kind of feel like I’m having a mini celebration when I use it. While I don’t recommend this as a shampoo, I do recommend it for a great bath and shower product with a unique scent.
