Pros: Smells pleasant enough. Makes your hair smell fruity.
Cons: Copycat of Strawberry Milkshake.
The Bottom Line: Not special enough to justify that $16.00 charge on your credit card :).

| kristinafh's Full Review: Philosophy Strawberry Ice Cream |
Preamble
Alert! Alert! Philosophy has recently released about twelve new products. I bought them ALL!!!! Strawberry Ice Cream is one of them.
What This Is
This is yet another of Philosophy's, 3-in-1 products. As I have said before, I am not a fan of 3-in-1 products from the perspective of using them for what I consider to be three, specific, and different callings in life - shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Til the day I die, I will refuse to believe that one thing can both clean and condition my hair to the extent that I am used to.
Still, I love Philosophy and will use their 3-in-1 products as both body washes and shampoos based upon the fragrance and their product's ability to clean without stripping me totally of moisture.
At the moment, Strawberry Ice Cream comes in a 16 ounce, clear bottle, with a black, flip-top cap. The product itself smells fruity (like strawberries) and creamy (like ice cream). Once you get down to only having 1/3 of the product left, it's best if you keep it tilted downwards while not in use (keep lid closed of course), so that the product stays close to the opening. Otherwise, you're going to have to squeeze the heck out of the bottle next time you try to use it. Side note: I really wish Philosophy would look into their bottle packaging. I hate the crunching sound it makes when I have to squeeze the product out.
What Philosophy Promises
ice cream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! leave it to philosophy to create the ultimate, 100% calorie-free, sweet treat for your shower! strawberry ice cream is just one of our cool new neapolitan scented shower gels - guaranteed to infuse your shower with the refreshing scent of strawberry ice cream. this ultra-rich, intensely creamy 3-in-1 shampoo, bath, and shower gel is as yummy and delectable as a drippy strawberry ice cream cone on a hot summer day.
Directions
I have used Strawberry Ice Cream as a shampoo and shower gel. Remember to only use a small amount. It goes a long way and for $16.00, you really should get your bang for your buck. For the hair thing, make sure you get your hair wet, squeeze some stuff in your hand, rub-a-dub-dub, and rinse. For your body, just make sure it's wet before your start the rub-a-dub-dub process. Rinse.
The Scoop
The first, major question you should be asking me is, How is this different from the Strawberry Milkshake? Well, that would be a great first question! My answer would be, it's not all that different. The scent is a tad bit more fruitier and a tad less Nestle Quik like however, ya gotta really sniff and figure that out.
The one thing that bothers me about this mixture is that it looks more fake in consistency than some of the other Philosophy shower gels. What I mean by that is that the pinkish coloring doesn't seem to look all that good to me. The gel itself seems to sparkle just a bit more (and maybe that accounts for what I'm seeing in the mixture between color and product).
As far as performance - it seems to be no better or worse than Strawberry Milkshake. It lathers up nice and big. The scent it leaves on my hair and body remains faint. It rinses clean. It doesn't strip my body or hair of its existing moisture. It does the job fine which is a bit disappointing because I was really hoping that with the release of the ice cream trio, the Strawberry version would be distinctively different from the Milkshake version. Me thinks that Philosophy might be planning on retiring Milkshake and just replacing it with Ice Cream...
The End
It's not a bodywash/shampoo I plan on purchasing again however, I wouldn't be opposed to using it if given to me as a gift :). For those who are looking for a body wash that just excites you to the end of the earth, I *highly* recommend Cinnamon Buns. It provides the zing you're looking for :).
