What This Is
This is yet another of Philosophy's, 3-in-1 products. As I have said before, I am not a fan of 3-in-1 products from the perspective of using them for what I consider to be three, specific, and different callings in life - shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Til the day I die, I will refuse to believe that one thing can both clean and condition my hair to the extent that I am used to.
Still, I love Philosphy and will use their 3-in-1 products as both body washes and shampoos based upon the fragrance and their product's ability to clean without stripping me totally of moisture.
At the moment, Strawberry Milkshake comes in a 16 ounce, clear bottle, with a black, flip-top cap. The product itself smells all creamy and delicious. Once you get down to only having 1/3 of the product left, it's best if you keep it tilted downwards while not in use (keep lid closed of course), so that the product stays close to the opening. Otherwise, you're going to have to squeeze the heck out of the bottle next time you try to use it.
Promises, Promises
* Contains vitamin e to help protect against environmental damage.
* Unique, long lasting fragrance
* Gentle enough for everyday use
* Works great as a bubble bath
* Cleans and conditions in one step
Directions
Guess it depends on what you're using it for :). I have used Strawberry Milkshake as a shampoo and shower gel. For the hair thing, make sure you get your hair wet, squeeze some stuff in your hand, rub-a-dub-dub, and rinse. For your body, just make sure it's wet before your start the rub-a-dub-dub process. Rinse.
But Really
Of the five things that they claim, I can only attest to two of them.
Environmental Damage
Maybe it's because I live in Indiana that I don't quite understand if any product protects me from "environmental" damage. I'm not sure what damage I need to be protected from in Indiana. Thoughts?
Bubble Bath
I don't do these enough (and never with this product) although I should.
Cleans and Conditions
I already told you that I refuse to use anything as both a cleanser and conditioner for my hair. It doesn't seem natural. From a shampoo perspective, it feels good going on, lathers up well, and rinses easily.
Gentle Enough For Everyday Use
True enough. Although I'm not sure what is within the ingredients that would make people think otherwise. I didn't find anything about the product to be too strong or harsh. It was mild all the way, from the scent to the sudsing. As someone with very dry skin (especially in the winter time), I can tell you that Strawberry Milkshake does not make my skin drier, nor does it moisturize it. Those of you with normal/oily skin would probably appreciate this more than those of us who fall into that other extreme.
Unique, Long Lasting Fragrance
Well yes and no. This is the first bath product I have purchased that smells like Nestle's Strawberry Quik (and this is a good thing) however, soon after I step out of the shower and start applying lotion, any hint of strawberry is gone. That's actually okay with me because I have no desire to smell like food in the middle of an important business meeting. Nor do I want to smell like food when I'm in the middle of an intimate moment.
The End
Although not my favorite Philosophy bath/shower product, I wouldn't say no if you bought this for me. :) But hey - if you are in the mood to buy me something from Philosophy, I prefer the following:
Philosophy Heaven on Earth
Philosophy Remember Me Shampoo, Bath, and Shower Gel
For You Ingredient Happy People
Water (Aqua), TEA Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycol Stearate, Sodium Chloride, TEA-PEG 3 Cocamide Sulfate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Glycerin, PEG-150 Distearate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyquaternium-7, Fragrance, Citric Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Red 33
