Preamble
I love Philosophy. I swear that the R&D guys and chicks must have a spy-cam set up on me. They watch and wonder...what can we create to make KFH buy and try? We know if she likes it, a bazillion of other gullible consumers will too.... And I fell for it...Philosophy: The Ice Cream Man Dreamdates Oil Free Dream Cream.
What This Is and What It Isn't
This is Philosophy's Ice Cream Man Dreamdates Oil Free Dream Cream. Now, I'm not sure what's up with all of these words or what their individual significance is.
The Dream Cream comes in a .2 ounce, clear tube with a black flip-top lid. The product appears to be very pink (from the outside) but once you put a small amount on your finger, you'll see that it's really more of a lighter shade of pink.
The Dream Cream has an incredible creamy/fruity smell to it. But more on that later ;).
The purpose of the Dream Cream is to give your face a more smooth look so that when you go and apply that foundation, everything looks perfect.
Directions
Use a very small amount - I recommend a pea size. Apply to clean, dry face with finger tips. Dream Cream needs to "set" on your skin for at least two minutes in order to be effective. Apply other make-up thereafter.
What Philosophy Promises
dream cream will help to diminish small imperfections and create a silky smooth finish for a flawless face.
Why I Love It
About two years ago, I tried another Philosophy product called, The Present. I adored it because it was creamy (unscented) and something that I applied to my face prior to adding my foundation. It just made my face feel really smooth and my make-up looked much better on top then if applied without this stuff.
For awhile, I couldn't find The Present. It made me sad :(. About three months ago, I noticed Dream Cream and I did a double take. It came in the exact size and shape of The Present, the ingredients were similar, the promises were similar, and the only difference was the smell/color combination.
And speaking of the smell, I'm not one who really goes nutso for fruity smells. Dream Cream has this creamy/milky/strawberry/cherry/raspberry scent to it and I have to tell you that some days, 5:30 a.m. can't come fast enough :). The scent is so subtle that I'm sure I'm the only one that notices it but my gawd...I just want to spread it on my body and eat it. And not necessarily in that order...
My skin goes through periods of time (depending on the week of the month) where it is extra dry, normal, and combination. Yep, I'm a freak. After you apply it (and you leave it on for two minutes to set), your face doesn't feel dry, oily, or icky. It feels super soft and nice. Doesn't matter what the week, Dream Cream works its magic, diminishing the appearance of my facial flaws, making it look like I have a porcelain appearance.
I get these comments about how I look like I'm glowing and then people wink and nudge. I smile and say nothing. Too bad they don't know that it's really Dream Cream :).
If you're bothered by the price - don't be. The one container lasted me this three months of almost every day use. A little bit of the stuff goes a long way.
To say that this is a major keeper in my skin care/make-up collection would be quite an understatement. :)
