When I'm getting in or out of the car at night, I tend to have trouble finding the keyhole. That's why I bought the Photon II Microlight and keep it on my car keys all the time. The Photon II Microlight a little bit expensive, but I wouldn't part with mine - it's a great product!

Features of the Photon II Microlight

Bright Bulb - the bulb on the Photon II Microlight is available in many different colors (see below) and is extremely bright for its size. It is adequate for finding the keyhole on your car, and I suppose it might just be bright enough to use as a small torch, but personally I prefer to use my little Mag-lite for this purpose. The company claims that the Photon II Microlight can be seen for over a mile, so I suppose it could also be a safety device if you get lost in the hills at night.
Tough Outer Casing - the casing on the Photon II Microlight is made of black plastic as is pretty tough - I've dropped my car keys a few times and it isn't scratched or cracked. I might have been lucky, though - you don't want it to fall on its bulb or this might break.
On/Off Button - this is a circular disc on the top of the casing. You push and hold it down to turn the light on and it springs back up when you let go. It is very unlikely that it will be accidentally turned on (causing the battery to run down).
Split-ring - My Photon II Microlight has two of these metal rings - one attached to the plastic and another fastened to that one. This is the kind of ring you get on most key-rings and will fit on a bunch of keys or a backpack.
Replaceable Battery - you gain access to the battery of the Photon II Microlight using a small screwdriver. It is great that the battery is replaceable, but at $5 each, these are also a little expensive. I've had my Photon II Microlight for a little over 6 months and the battery hasn't worn out yet, even with quite heavy use.

I love my little Photon II Microlight and wouldn't be without it, but it is a little expensive at the full price of $20 (I got mine for $15). Once you get past the price problem, though, it really is a handy little gadget that will come in very useful. Recommended.

Size - around 1" long (you can see it clearly in the photo.)
Colors - White, turquoise, blue, red (the one I've got), orange, yellow, green.
Guarantee - the packaging on the Photon II Microlight offers a lifetime guarantee against electrical problems. Presumably this means that if in stops working due to a bad connection, they replace it for free.
Cost - the price given for the Photon II Microlight on Epinions is currently around $20, but I bought mine for $15 and Ebay are auctioning them for around $10. I probably wouldn't have bought it at $20 - I think it's just too much.
Where To Buy - the best place to me looks like Ebay, but I got mine in a hardware store.
