Why just a 'B'? This model of magic circle does not have padding on the inside of the handles, so you're not going to want to do exercises with your arm or leg on that side.
The Gaiam Magic Circle comes with a video. The exercises are fine, by the video is by no means comprehensive. There are better ones on the market from several other makers.
This is an adequate set, at a premium price. If you see a sale, and have the impulse to get a magic circle, you might go for it.
Otherwise, keep shopping.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. A blend of eastern & western exercise movements, Pilates builds a strong core, better alignment, and efficient muscle patterns. Its a total body workout that builds both strength & flexibility without muscle bulk.
Joe studied yoga, martial arts, calisthenics, and bodybuilding as a means of becoming stronger and fit after a sickly childhood. While he was training Scotland Yard officers in England, WWI broke out. Joe ended up spending much of the war in an internment camp there. His physical prowess led to work with other POWs, and he used what was readily available to develop rehabilitation machines ---- the hospital beds. Two of the large Pilates machines still in use today resemble something made from a bed: the Universal Reformer, and the Cadillac, also known as a Trapeze Table.
Joseph Pilates devised the Magic Circle roughly 75 years ago as a resistance tool. It was originally made from the steel bands found on liquor kegs. It's used to learn exercises that can also be done isometrically, and is very useful in isolating muscle groups. A great workout for legs, arms, and abs.
