The Ping fitting service insures that your clubs will be custom built to your individual specifications. This fact alone helps to justify the price of these clubs. It does make a difference! The Ping G2's are very forgiving and easy to hit. They are nice looking and inspire confidence with a balanced feel. The Ping grips offer a soft tacky feel that I find unmatched. I would recommend the HL design in the 3 thru 5 irons. It makes them much easier to hit. I would also recommend the utility (gap) wedge. It not only does what it's name implies but is an extremely useful tool around the green from any lie. Shots with the mid and short irons fly high and land soft with plenty of spin. Stopping the ball on even hard fast greens is no problem. The G2's are not as easy to work the ball with, as some clubs, but it can be done. There is something to be said for being able to hit it straight. All but the worst miss hits are still pretty good, losing less distance and accuracy than other clubs. I have the dampening system in my stiff steel shafts and, suffering from arthritis, appreciate the softer feel transmitted by these shafts. A good shot still feels like a good shot with these clubs. I would recommend these clubs to anyone who wants to shoot lower scores and hit more quality shots.
