The Pinnacle Gold Spin golf balls promise great distance from the tee box and exceptional spin performance on and around the putting surface. The Gold Spin features a large hard inner core which promotes increased distance and an outer cover made from lithium suryln that increases the amount of backspin imparted to the golf ball. Pinnacle offers all this to the golfing public for an exceptional price. You can buy these babies for around $15 a dozen or 15 balls for $18.99 .
This is a price tag that gets your attention. With Titleist , Callaway , and even Top- Flite offering golf balls that promise more or less the same characteristics, these golf balls were something I needed to check out. Here's what I found out.
I wasn't expecting these Pinnacles to favorably compare to the top of the line balls such as Titleist Professional or Maxfli Revolution . Based on the low price , I was looking for a good, durable economy ball that offered great value and performance. I was favorably impressed.
Off the tee I did not notice any great increase or decrease in my driving distance. I hit these about as far as normal ( not very far! ). The Gold Spins felt good when struck. They didn't have that super feel you typically get with Titleist products, but they had a much better feel than a Top-Flite rocks.
Hitting to the green This was fun. I was actually able to get these balls to 'dance' a little on some greens. That was a big surprise from a two-piece ball. Usually my approach shots will hit and make one or two hops forward and settle. If you've never been able to make your shots spin back like the pros, that my be reason enough to purchase a dozen of these.
Putting These balls putted fairly well. The Pinnacle logo serves as a good alignment tool. The role was true and the feel provided good feed back. No complaints with how this product putted.
Do they last ? At this price, who cares ! I don't seem to have the problems some have with cutting the balls or squishing them out of shape. Wish I did, darn it ! I will tell you this- these golf balls do not float. Wish they did.
So, overall... I am sold on the Pinnacle Golf Spin . They give the average golfer a great deal more than expected in an economical ball. They would be an exceptional choice on a course with hard greens where distance is not a factor. Buy a dozen and watch them dance for you on the putting surface.
