| kelly60's Full Review: Pioneer DV-47A DVD Player |
The Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player is a beautiful player for an affordable price. I bought mine on sale for around $300 and I feel that it was a good investment. Although this unit typically sells for double what I paid for it, I think that it would be well worth it considering the quality of the product.
Since it is made by Pioneer, I feel that the quality is assured. I have always been satisfied with the the other Pioneer products I have purchased in the past. In fact, this was one of the main reasons why I chose this player over the others I was looking at. Of course the sale price certainly helped to influence my decision. Getting the Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player for half price was great, but was far from being the only reason.
The Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player plays a variety of formats, such as CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-A, MP3, HD-CD, DVD-R, VCD, and DVD-RW which pretty well covers most formats you would want to play on it. The only complaint I have here is that I enjoy karaoke, and it does not play the CD+G format that many karaoke disks are in. That isn't really a problem since I do have another player for that purpose, but would be nice anyway.
Personally, I have not used this player for all of these formats. I have used it with CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, and VCD in addition to the standard DVDs. It handled all of these formats beautifully. I have no complaints whatsoever about any of them.
This unit measures Wide 16-3/4" x High 4-1/8" x Deep 11-1/8", which is small enough to easily fit in most locations. The Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player weighs just 11 lbs. 3 oz.
It has Component, S-Video, Composite outputs for the video, and Coaxial, Optical, RCA, 5.1 channel outputs for the audio. It comes with built in Dolby Digital, Built-In DTS surround sound. The Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player has triple 192kHz/24bit audio DACs, six-channel audio output, and the latest in surround decoding so the sound is extremely impressive. Additionally, the Bass Management features let you control the amount of bass sent to your speakers. This greatly improves the sound as well as providing protection for your speakers.
It also features 108MHz/12-bit video processing and comes with Pioneers PureCinema progressive scan, for superior viewing. The picture is clear and sharp, and the audio is excellent.
The Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player also comes with a two year warranty on Parts and Labor, which is important on a purchase of this nature.

The unit is stylish and attractive to look at, yet functional as well. The remote is set up to control many functions, thus having a lot of buttons. These are well arranged for convenience, but may take a little while before you become accustomed to the many functions. It is covered very well in the manual however, so it should be a breeze to learn how this functions.
Setting up the Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player is be easy as well. Since it is compatible with many types of input and outputs, it should be easy for anyone to get it set up and connected for use.
Conclusion
Overall, I would recommend the Pioneer Elite DV-47Ai DVD Player to anyone who enjoys excellent quality sound, along with a great picture. I don't think you will find a better bargain for the money.
