| techguy137's Full Review: Pioneer DV-533 DVD Player |
This is my first and hopefully last DVD player. It has a lot of features and I'm so very happy that it is PAL/NTSC compatible. This is essential for anyone who wishes to watch or rent foreign movies in PAL. It will play almost anything.
It has CD-R/RW read ability and that is awesome if you have a computer and .mp3s. I have a few mix CD-RWs that I can save about 150 songs on and listen to for a week. I use CD-RWs so I can re-burn the disc when I'm tired of those songs or for a huge 'mood' disc. Conveniently, the DVD player displays the title of the song while it's playing.
This DVD player also plays the antiquated SVCD format--which for you cheapskates is the format you can use to rip DVDs and burn them onto CD-Rs. You lose most of the features but you can watch the movie in widescreen with stereo sound for the cost of two or three CD-Rs. Look into DVD2SVCD or other such programs.
I am very happy with this device and I would highly recommend it to you because it has many quality features for the price.
