I've owned this receiver for almost a year now, and I'm still amazed at the sound quality and I'm very appreciative of all the input options. I'm running this with DefTech BP-6's for front L & R, DefTech CLR 2002 center and the BP1.2x surrounds. The amp will crank out a huge sound field without fatigue on the ears and has the power to kick in slamming bass without clipping or compressing the track. I almost didn't get a sub, since this combo really filled the room with sound that had clarity and punch, but I finally added a Cadence 15" powered sub (if you haven't heard of them, it's worth your while to look them up. Superior quality w/o the premium price tag). I use my setup mainly for movies and TV and the THX Select2 really gives theatre quality sound without having to crank it up to reference levels. The amp also has a nice musical quality and I have no complaints on how it handles a variety of music. The rock is slamming and you can pick all the nuances from a complicated classical piece. I have yet to find a situation where I haven't been pleased with this receiver's performance. Usually, I'll start watching a Blu-Ray movie or be playing a game on the PS3 and suddenly just be amazed at the sound quality that I'm surrounded with. I've owned pioneer receivers in the past in the VSX line, but I just put this system together after getting my 50" plasma and I'm in movie heaven.
