| babylon's Full Review: Pioneer MJ-17D Mini Disc Player |
Having owned many Elite products in the past as well as present,I was looking forward to using this model...Simply put,This Elite unit as well as Sonys top of the Lline ES model are the best units out there..PERIOD! Having read glowing reviews of both units,I choose the Elite because of its slight edge in sound from its analog outputs,as well as more usefull features,(for my use),yours may be different..Both these decks simply push mini-disc technology to its theoretical limits, and those audiophiles who value sound as well as quality should look no further...I prefer the convienence of mini-disc over cd-burners and wanted a deck that could come close to the best cd-recorder..The Elite met this requirement hands down..Those of you using its analog outputs will be treated to a smooth tube like quality..Never fatiquing allways engaging..On the inside, the unit features Burr Brown DACs,as well as advanced processing which even to the best ears comes close to cd quality...Depending on your needs I would recommend the Elite..However the Sony ES is equal in performance, but at a jump in price...
