Pros: I'm speechless, the quality of the sound is unmatched by ANY format other than LP's.
Cons: You DO need a user manual, anyone out there have one?
The Bottom Line: The MD exceeds the versatility and sound quality of ALL formats except LP. If you want a convenient way to store music in a HQ capacity, nothing tops this!

| jazzcatone's Full Review: Pioneer MJ-17D Mini Disc Player |
I know this is kind of late but, i just recently purchased one of these, having the matching CD recorder (PDR19RW), currently in surgery, i didn't even know they made a minidisc and i got this one for a song! No regrets at all other than SERIOUSLY needing an owners manual for it. The sound is stunning, especially from analog recordings, (SOTA Sapphire TT). What most people don't know, is the MD has more options and versatility than a tape deck, (cassette & Open reel), yet exceeds the sound quality of CD's (IMHO) without the oxidizing of tape or the scratching of CD's. What more could you ask for! Using these Digital wonders quickly makes you understand why record company execs threw so much money at the CD format. If MD had the backing of CD's, their enormous profits wouldn't be happening today. I also have two Sony decks, 520 & 320, i've reached the Pinnacle of MD's and they'll be going to someone else. If you don't own one of these, i'd seriously consider getting one and they're CHEAP! People are giving them away. Strike the iron while the fire's hot! Getting the disc isn't an issue either so, that shows that somebody's thinking!
