| davidcjohnson's Full Review: Pioneer PDP-4360HD 43 in. TV |
I researched TV's for quite a while before deciding on the Pioneer. I am not disappointed!
The whole thing arrived nicely packed in separate boxes, the screen, speakers, stand and receiver all inside a large carton. It took about 40 minutes to assemble, taking my time.
One of the nicest features is the separate media unit. This sits below my TV on a shelf with the JVC home theatre and the PS2, and all the cables run into the media box. From there, a single cable (2 cables stuck together really) plugs into the back of the TV making it much easier to hide the cords.
The TV has nice solid handles on the back for moving it around. When it is sitting on the stand, it is very solid and stable. I have to really push on it to even make it budge.
The colors and the blacks on the unit are phenomenal. We watched Finding Nemo using the JVC progressive scan mode, and were just blown away. Like watching it the first time!
Ocean scenes were exploding with colors. The dark murky depths were awesome, flawless blacks. You could see every small shadow, every small detail of the rocks in the dark areas. All the way down to the scene where they go to pitch dark, which was a pure dark screen with no defects or weird anomalies.
I also noticed on late night talk shows that I can see every gradiation in their black suits, every pocket, wrinkle, fold and shadow.
Needless to say I am entirely thrilled with this TV and you can not go wrong picking it!!!
