I have had this baby in my home for two weeks and it quickly got my admiration of the unit.Never before have I been so excited about a piece of audio equipment. Heck who am I kidding, Im always excited about new audio components.First let me start by saying that this is a very handsome piece of equipment,very nice fit and finish.What surprised me was that it actually has a little weight to it. The controls are logically laid out and the machine is fairly easy to record with.I really like the big center light bar that lights up in red or green depending if your recording a disk or just playing one,very nice touch if you ask me.The sound quality of this unit is astonishing!! I made direct digital copies of my friends CD's and we could not tell them apart from the originals.This unit is very flexible in its connecting abilities allowing toshlink optical digital as well as co-axle digital connectors. It of coarse has anolog connections for recording off anolog sources. All digital and anolog connectors come with both inputs and outputs. Connectors are gold plated for better signal conductivity.You can record in five different modes from all track synchro,were the unit sets all recording parameters automatically,to fully manual mode were you must adjust the meter levels as well as track numbers.Pioneer claims that this unit with 24 bit resolution and a signal to noise ratio of 110 decibals can come close to DVD audio sound quality, and I truly believe this claim!
