| bankrupt's Full Review: Pioneer Elite PRO-FHD1 50 in. HDTV-Ready TV |
This TV has about the best image quality that you can find in a plasma. I am not a tech expert, but I will review those thisngs that stand out in my mind after making this purchase about 10 months ago.
Some of my friends have larger tvs, but each of them has remarked at the quality of the HD images from my tv. The sharpness and clarity appear to blow away all other brands in this class, and I was previously a Sony worshipper. Not anymore - at least in tvs. You really need to compare pics of this tv side by side with anything else that you are considering. I don't pretend to have the tech expertise to describe this in "dots" or "pixels". Just sheer pleasure to watch. The HD images, especially live sports, will blow you away.
We made this purchase when redecorating the family room. This tv, morerso than other brands, looks like a piece of furniture on the wall. It has a very clean design, and even with its "minimalist" appearance (usually thought of for a contemporary home), it goes real well in our new family room which is kind of earthy.
My only pet peeve with the tv is one that my not be a fault of the tv. My cable provider is Comcast, and I wanted to have the ability to watch 2 stations side by side (a requirement for Sunday football). I wasn't able to get that arrangement without a second HD tuner, which wasn't available for me. However, I believe that the tv can accomodate this if you can arrange a proper set-up.
If you don't want to spend the money for this tv, then don't look at it. It is more money than other tvs in the same size and category. You can get a decent picture from other tvs, but for a family room - where you and your friends will be - this should get serious consideration.
