Pros:Works well for beginners, inexpensive, anti-fungal ingredients.
Cons:Needs more benzocaine for longer more intensive engagement.
The Bottom Line: Consider this a 'training wheels' kind of product when experimenting with anal sex.

Preface: This is a review of an adult product designed to make anal sex more enjoyable; it will contain graphic and sexual information. If you are offended easily it’s a safe bet that you will want to stop reading here.
Once you've made the choice to experiment with anal sex you have to think about whether you are going to go at it raw dog style, with condoms, if you are going to use a lube or cream and if that product is going to have a numbing agent in it. Sure, you can throw caution to the wind and wing it but if you are a male you are going to want to do your homework on the subject if you ever want your woman to try it a second time. Most guys build up the act of anal sex to such a degree that when it actually happens, well, there is some disappointment. It is a tighter fit and the orgasm can be more intense but you can't go all Hulk on her or [and I can guarantee this] it will never happen again.
Products like Tushy Tamer are sort of laughed at by experienced explorers. Oh, I have tried more than a few of them but the key word is "try". You can't rely on this for every anal encounter. Why? You get numb. It gets boring after a while because while you can feel something, you aren't feeling everything. Most of what you will feel after applying this is pressure or pushing, if you are a female and you are just engaging in this to placate your man then you need to speak up about it. Anal sex can be a mind blowing, toe curling, breathtaking experience if both people are on the same page about it, otherwise someone is going to walk [hobble] away from it with a tinge of regret.
Tushy Tamer is a desensitizing cream. It gets applied to the anal area to numb it; the degree of numbing will vary from person to person but to get the best results you do need to get most of it inside the anal cavity. For this, you must use gloves because you don’t want this getting on your fingers – that means they get numb or you have to run to the bathroom to wash them well. It can take anywhere from three to five minutes for it to really kick in. Guys, please, don't just jump in to anal sex with penetration – use fingers, thin adult toys, anal beads etc before you actually attempt penetration [and that means like over the course of two weeks, not that same night] so that your partner feels comfortable. This can be used with or without condoms but I do suggest that you wear one so that your penis doesn't get numb from contact with the cream. Even if you don't normally wear condoms, trust me on this, anal sex for more than ten minutes the first couple times you are going at it is enough. If your wang gets numb from Tushy Tamer you are going to be banging away and not feeling anything – and when it starts to wear off your partner is not going to be thrilled.
For girl on girl action, this can be used with adult toys – plastic, glass, rubber, latex – you name it. It is safe for use with all types of condoms and will not stain clothing or bedding but you are probably going to want to do the laundry when you are done with the romp. I have to be honest here, most homosexual men won't buy something like this – even if they are beginners or experimenting solo. They are going to go with something manly or something that someone in their circle recommends. Tushy Tamer will work well for its intended purpose but it isn't the strongest or longest lasting desensitizing cream on the market. Even though they use some top shelf products in this I think they need to up the amount of benzocaine in it and cut back a little on the aloe.
Is this safe for A2M? I am not going to get into the general topic of A2M; I'm just commenting on how Tushy Tamer applies to the act while it is on the penis. Even though this is usually applied to the anal area of the female, well, its inevitable that it is going to get on other body parts so if you are someone that likes to switch things up every couple minutes you might want to wipe it off before you go the oral route. Because of the benzocaine in it, there is a good chance that if you are orally engaged for more than a minute your mouth is going to have some degree of numbness to it. The wording on the tube says that it is "odorless and tasteless" – not exactly true. There is a slight scent to it but nothing offensive or fruity. Likewise there is a little bit of a taste to it, its hard to say what the taste is because none of the ingredients on the tube really give you a clue to what it could be because they are all base products with no fragrance added. Suffice it to say, this won’t numb your mouth like going to the dentist [drool face] but it will leave you void of feeling for ten to twenty minutes depending on how long and hard you are sucking.
The ingredients in this are common; read any package of desensitizing cream made for anal sex and you will see almost all of the names listed. This does have methylparaben added as an anti-fungal as well as ethoxydiglycol [one of the higher grade clear solvents] so there are some perks to picking this. Carbomer is an odd ingredient because it is one of the more expensive additives in top shelf water based cosmetics. Common sense should tell you that if you have any kind of allergies or have had allergic reactions to something like this you are going to want to read the box before you buy it. The nerves in the anus are extremely sensitive; moreover they are more receptive than other parts of the body so applying something in, on or around the area that could cause a reaction / allergic reaction is three to four times more painful than other parts of the body. Why do you think all the 'smart' hard core drug users prefer to have their product made into a suppository? Fast absorption, less waste of product and a more intense high.
The 1.5 ounce tubes are sold at most adult bookstores as well as at various online stores that carry adult products. This isn't the best cream for anal sex but it does work well as both a lubricant and as a desensitizing cream. If you are going for more than ten minutes you may want to stop and apply some more when the gape-effect is happening – that will keep things moist and lubed up and give the initial application a boost.
