that's ok, I used to call Walt Disney World (the FL location) Disneyland in Florida... In any case, should you go on Pirates of the Caribbean, you'll find the entrance different than I described, but the actual rides are very similar.
Hope you have fun, and believe me, Elaine, I know about the lazy bug- I'm still constantly amazed at how some people can churn out quality reviews day after day. I go in spurts myself...

That's true- I think just because of the queue location and the Blue Bayou restaurant make the Disneyland Pirates a better ride. Can't wait to see the movie character faces!! The ghost story is kind of freaky- any idea why there is a ghost there??

It's just like me to not being paying close attention. Shame on me.

I've never been to either Disney "land" or "world"... (heck I just made my first circus a couple years ago) we wuz too poor for all this fancy stuff. So I'm really excited, Probably just as excited as the kids.

Hopefully we'll see some reviews from your trip???

Yes I am hoping I do, gotta kick me in the butt to get over this case of the lazy's I got, Whew!

XOXO

Yeah, but the Pirates ride at the Magic Kingdom doesn't have the Blue Bayou.

I heard that Disneyland plans on closing this ride for 8 months to remodel the faces of all the characters in the movies. I don't know when this is set to happen, though.

I never thought this ride was offensive, but the PC police complained to Disney about how one of the pirates is chasing a pretty girl. I remember those figures were removed the last time I went through it.

BTW, local folklore says this ride is haunted by the ghost of a little boy. It is said his image appears on the security monitors when the park is closed.

There are a few distinct differences between this Pirates and the one in Florida, but overall, the same great experience. I debated on whether or not to write a review about the Pirates at Magic Kingdom, but I don't want it to be redundant, so I'm still trying to figure out how to go about doing it...
Anyway, thanks for the comments and hope you have fun during your vacation (hopefully we'll see some reviews from your trip???)

My Brother lives in Orlando (well Casselberry) and just came home for a visit this past weekend and was telling us about this.

We are planning a trip there in a couple of months and I can't wait.

Johnny Depp is being added to this ride? At WDW as well. Should be finished before the opening of the movie POTC II. Personally, I'm excited!
