| aingalls's Full Review: Planar CT1904Z 19 inch LCD Monitor |
I was content with my Viewsonic 19" and thought there was no rational need to move up to an LCD monitor. My 19" CRT, however, was taking up too much space on my limited workspace so I decided to check out the LCDs that were becoming increasingly more available and even more reasonable in price. It's the best thing I could have done!
After much research, talking to friends and direct comparisons, I opted for the CT1904Z. With its vast array of features, excellent resolution, easy to Maneuver menu controls and an overall just "Outstanding" picture, the choice was easy.
Now, with many hours of my time one-on-one with this LCD monitor, my passion for the CT1904 has not waned in the least. Utilizing a direct DVI out, there is no place I fear to go whether just every day surfing or word processing to high resolution gaming into the "wee hours." The CT1904 handled it all with great picture quality, resolution and speed.
Update (4/6):
I've been getting some sorted comments concerning my review. Here's what I've got to those reviewers:
I'm not a professional reviewer (like apparently some other are or think they are). I'm just a guy who does some research from multiple sources and try to make an informed decision before my purchase. The reviews that are incredibly objective and list pros and cons of each and every possible features, including those that are used one or twice (like maybe a menu feature) are very helpful. I applaud the depth and completeness of the reviews. But I also personally feel that those reviews from people who just ramble or write from the heart are valuable as well. With both types aggregated, some may argue that we get well rounded review of the particular product in question. And from ALL people representing each end of the spectrum.
This review on the Planar was, as a matter a fact, my first review ever. Was it more emotional, then technical? Yes. Was it written in more casual style and not formated to more objective, technical style? Sure. But I don't apologize for that. I do SWOT models at work, but for something like this each reader must weigh my review according to their own values and judgment system. Weigh it in your purchasing decision it as you will.
I, now many more months later, still love my Planar as much as when I wrote the review. No pros and cons... Just a great monitor that I would recommend to anyone who asks (non-technically speaking).
