Pros: Perfect size, indestructible, minty scent, my dog loves it, versatile, FUN
I have a small Jack Russell Terrier who's around 10 years old. He hasn't stopped wanting to play but he seems to be very picky about what he plays with and, lately, rather than actually play, he seems to just destroy his toys. I found the Planet Dog Orbee Tuff Ball Dog Toy Small and my dog loves it. He can't chew to pieces no matter what he does!
About the Planet Dog Orbee Tuff Ball Dog Toy Small
Rated Top Product of the Year by numerous magazines and called the "world's best dog ball" by industry experts - this doggie-durable, buoyant, bouncy and minty toy is irresistible to dogs.
It will become a playtime favorite. We guaranteed it 100%.
I bought this ball after looking at the "Chew-O-Meter" on the Planet Dog website. This site assesses which toys are best for the size of the dog and his or her chewing habits. This ball is rated 5 out of 5 champers, meaning it's virtually indestructible.
The ball comes in three color combinations: blue/green, pink/blue. and glow/orange. I chose the blue/green color because it looked like the earth and because it was more "manly" than the other colors. The ball comes in three sizes and, since Mickey is so small, we bought the small size which is 2 1/4" in diameter. For reference, the medium is 3 1/4 inches in diameter and the large ball is 4 1/4 inches around.
The ball smells like mint and stays minty scented for ages. My dog likes the scent (It may taste minty but I'm not about to lick it!) and his breath takes on a minty scent after he plays with the ball. Made of a special rubber that stands up to ANYTHING, this ball has raised green pieces and a smooth blue surface that my dog seems to enjoy gnawing.
The ball is lightweight and bounces. It doesn't squeak (thankfully) and doesn't deflate no matter what you do to it. It's truly amazing. Mickey usually tires very quickly of typical toys. The ones he doesn't tire of fast drive me crazy squeaking and then he manages to tear them to pieces. I worry that he will choke on the little pieces he makes out of his toys. I have tried stuffed toys, hard rubber bones, typical dog balls, tennis balls, you name it. None really did it for Mickey.
Planet Dog Orbee Tuff Ball Dog Toy Small does it! He has been messing with it for about six months now and he can't manage to tear it or rip it apart no matter how hard he tries. He spends blocks of time just trying to pull off the green pieces which do not budge. He likes to play fetch and this ball is the perfect size for his little mouth. It is pliable so it does collapse some to allow my dog to hold it in his mouth with ease.
The ball is also fine in water. We own a marina and we take Mickey out there where he inevitably ends up in the lake (but just wading usually). He takes his Planet Dog Orbee Tuff Ball Dog Toy out into the water and amuses himself tossing it around if we don't do it for him.
In all, I couldn't be happier with my choice of the Planet Dog Orbee Tuff Ball Dog Toy Small for Mickey. He's not easy to please these days but he loves his Tuff Ball and even sleeps with it at times. If you have a larger dog, you can get the larger size ball and know that your dog will NOT be able to eat his or her way through it. These balls are non-toxic and 100% recyclable. It is also guaranteed never to rip, tear, or be bitten to pieces.
Planet Dog dog toys can be purchased on the Planet Dog website as well as on many other pet toy and supply websites. I'm not sure where this brand is sold offline but I am sure it is. I paid $6.95 for the small ball. Prices are higher for the larger sizes. It's the best $6.95 I have spent as far as toys for Mickey. It's versatile and indestructible and, best of all, he likes it, he really likes it!
I love the Planet Dog Orbee Tuff Ball Dog Toy Small and Mickey loves it. I have never been so pleased with a dog toy. It's such a relief to know that my dog can't tear the toy to pieces and possibly choke. He really enjoys playing with the ball alone or when we toss it around for him. The scent lingers forever even after being in water and Mickey seems to like the minty smell of the ball. It helps his breath too. I have absolutely no complaints about this ball and I highly recommend it or the larger sized balls for any dog who needs a toy that's more durable (and more fun) than the usual dog toys out there. 5 stars.
