Pros: Convertible from over the head support to over the ear support, and back; mute button.
Cons: Semi-good sound quality, annoying to constantly switch supports.
The Bottom Line: Nice headset, although sound quality could be greatly improved. Extra volume control and mute switch, in addition to the one that your phone probably has, are nice.

| rmskater's Full Review: Plantronics M175 Headset For All Phones With A 2.5... |
This headset is a pretty decent headset at the price that it is offered. For me, it was about $30. This was the first headset that I got.
This headset can switch from "over the ear" to an "over the head" headset. When it is in the "over the ear" support, it feels a bit unstable at first. I'm not sure if this is just because I'm still not really used to how over the ear headsets feel, or because I just put it on.
When the headset is in the "over the head" support, the ear clip is taken off. Instead, there is a band, which attaches to the headset, that goes over your head, holding the headset snugly against your ear. In addition, there is also a little cushion which fits over the ear piece to give your ear a little comfort.
This support actually is pretty good and feels nice. This support is very snug and it won't fall off unless you are doing an excessive amount of moving. You wear the headset like this for a good amount of time without ear strain.
The "over the ear" support is also nice. It's good for when you want to be a little more discreet, although, until you get used to it, you may feel it to be a little bit unstable.
When in the "over the ear" support, the band and the cushion are removed from the headset, and are replaced with an ear clip. The ear clip is attached firmly to the ear piece, and will not fall off.
You place the ear clip behind your ear, with the ear piece in your ear. Well, actually, the ear piece is so big, that it more or less fits over(?) your ear. Let's just say that it presses up against your ear; it doesn't actually go into your ear.
This may feel a bit uncomfortable at first. At first, it may feel like it will fall off of your ear. Just adjust it and it won't. Or, you can attach the clip that is on the cord to your shirt.
When you switch supports, be careful. When you put the band on and off, be gentle. I've never had any problems with this, but it's best just to be safe.
However, when you switch the ear clip to the cushion, or vice versa, you need to firmly grip the headset when you pull either one off. If you don't, you may pull the headset apart. I've done this before. Nothing bad happens, it just comes apart and you need to snap the pieces back together.
The main part of the headset itself looks nice. It is a round ear piece, about as big as a dollar coin (one of the old ones, not the newer ones, which are the size of a quarter), and attached is the boom mic. This is a pretty sufficient mic. It reaches about 4-5 inches long.
The cord is about 3/4 of a meter long, and along the cord is a clip and a mute button. The clip slides along the cord to attach to your shirt. The mute button is a nice feature. You don't have to mute the conversation from the actual phone, but instead just move the switch to mute the phone. On the mute button, there is also a volume control, to turn the volume on the ear piece up.
The headset plug (which fits into the headset jack on the phone), is a standard 2.5mm plug, meaning that it will fit into any standard phone with a headset jack. Not Nokia's, though.
On the headset plug, there is a mic volume set switch. You can choose from high, medium, and low. What this does, is if you have a low voice, you can switch it to high, if you have a loud voice, you can switch it to low, or you can just leave it at medium. I usually do the last, because most of my friends complain of feedback or trouble hearing me, if I change the setting.
Sound quality is acceptable. You can hear the caller, and they can hear you, however, sometimes, you may have to ask them to speak up. At times, the volume may seem low, even if the volume is turned to the maximum.
Oh, and my girlfriend also complained that she looks like an airplane operator, or a McDonald's operator when she wears the headset. I love you Camilla!!!
