Pros:Light and comfortable. You'll forget you have it on.
Cons:Purchase of optional handset lifter is a must for remote answering.
The Bottom Line: I am completely satisfied with my CS50 and wish I could afford a second one for home.
As a purchasing agent, I am always on the phone and on hold checking and placing orders. I needed a headset. The Plantronics CS50 was honestly the only cordless headset in our office supply catalog. It's pricey at $299, however you have to purchase the "optional" handset lifter to operate it remotely. The lifter is around $79. If your phone is at a high vertical angle, the handset will slide off the phone when operated. It also comes with an arm extension in case your phone is too large. The lifter comes with a small microphone that you stick on so that it can recognize and signal your headset when your phone rings. I had to turn my ringer volume up all the way for it to work. That may be a negative if you are in an office environment that may annoy other employees. Otherwise, the headset itself comes with different configurations. I prefer the over the head with the leather earpiece. There are 3 over the ear configurations and a back of the head. The headset is so light and comfortable that I've forgotten to take it off and worn it home. You can adjust the volume for everything and I've never had a problem with anyone complaining of the clarity. Sometimes there is some slight buzzing due to interference from where my laptop is. If I move it a little it's corrected. Security was also a concern for me, however there are 4 employees at my company now who have these phones and there has not been a problem. The only optional equipment that I wish it had was a remote dialer.
