| xyzwyatt's Full Review: Playhut Disney Princess 5 in 1 Play N Fun |
I really question where they get the name 5 in 1 for this because this is no more than a hide out in our home. We have come to know and love Playhut play structures but this one leaves a lot to be desired. The quality of the product is very nice; its just the design seems to be missing some key components.
The tent measures 56" x 56" x 32". It is purple on the outside with 3 beautiful princesses in front of a castle. Once you unzip the tent it reveals a plain bright pink inside. The outside back of the tent (where the bag toss is) is also pink. The purple and pink complement each other well.
A sleeping bag is one of the main components of this tent. The piece with the picture on it is very similar to a sleeping bag however not quite as heavy. It is zipped in with Velcro on the bottom to keep in place. The piece can be completely removed from the tent if needed.
You could use the sleeping bag to sleep in it long ways like you would a bed with the tent over your head. Another option is to fold the sleeping bag mat all the way out and use the tent as a headboard. 2 people could sleep in the tent that way.
There is no padding for the bottom of the tent so I dont see why a kid would want to sleep all night in it. It would not be very warm or comfortable for anyone as is.
There is a round opening on both sides with attached flap that can be used to crawl through the tent with. My daughter uses this occasionally to enter the tent. She doesnt crawl though it very often when its zipped all the way up because theres not a lot of room inside. It makes a good hiding place and thats about it. You can not stand up in the tent no matter how its arranged.
There are 2 flaps that are designed to throw the two enclosed bean bags from the outside but my daughter used it at a window. It is a small hole but she can stick her whole head through it which seems like it could be a safety risk somehow. As far as the two bean bags that came with this tent
I have no idea where they are now. We do not encourage throwing in the house so this feature is totally useless. Additionally, this structure is so weak that the bean bag can knock the tent out of shape with one throw.
This is fairly easy to set up however my daughter either cant or doesnt do it and the reason for that is because if its not positioned correctly it will just flop over which is frustrating for a child. When the sleeping bag is zipped up to the top it makes the tent unstable.
The tent can be folded up within a minute and put into the included carrying bag. Be sure to take good care of the tent stick because the tent wont stand up whatsoever without it.
I am tired of being the bad guy who wont let my daughter sleep in her sleeping tent but the fact is, I just dont feel like it is safe to sleep in because its not stable, sturdy, or comfortable. This was a fun addition to our tent collection and it is used frequently in play however doesnt serve many of the purposes advertised on the box. This same tent also comes in an assortment of other prints.
