This was the first play structure that we got from Playhut about 4 years ago. We still have the tent and use it a lot both inside and outside which goes to show you how durable the Playhut products are.
There is 25 square feet of play room inside the tent. The tent measures 60 inches long by 60 inches wide by 60 inches in height. This is a large tent so we typically set it up in the family room since it doesnt fit well in their rooms.
This is a bright colored nylon tent with patent Playhut EZ Fold technology. This huge house collapses and fit into the included storage/travel bag within a minute. When ready to set the tent up simply pull it out of the carrying bag and it springs into shape. Pull the pieces open and insert the stick on the inside of the roof.
The tent features a main cloth door which is permanently attached, windows made of mesh which you can look through but you can not open the window. there is a circle at the bottom to crawl through. You might want to add a crawl through tube to this Playhouse and connect it to another tent. The Megahouse is compatible with other Playhut tents.
The tent is tall enough for children to stand up in and large enough for many children to get inside of it. When my son started playing club house games in the city with nowhere to hide the tent came in handy. The other kids liked it as well and would ask him to bring the tent out. The tent is light enough to be carried around. Since he cant fold it up to travel size he has to carry it while its folded down but not compacted which makes it a bit challenging to maneuver and get through doors but is manageable especially with another helper.
My younger daughters like to play in it as well. They haul a bunch of their toys inside and pay with with dolls or play with their kitchen foods.
The nylon is easy to clean with a wet rag and it dries quickly. Weve had this for a long time and played with it a lot outside and it is still in nice shape. We usually only collapse the tent but we dont fold it into the circle unless were traveling with it because the springing into shape can be somewhat dangerous for a child. It could spring at their face or knock them over. The tent is very easy to fold up and put into the bag. If you lose the folding directions they can be found online at www.playhut.com. When playing inside we have to be careful not to lift the tent into the fan or hanging lamps because it is pretty tall and brushes against these things when transporting.
This is not designed to be a sleeping tent. There is no way to tack the tent down and there isnt a floor to it. We do play with it a lot outside but cant be played with on a windy day. It is made of nylon so the kids don't play in it very much on a hot day because they get really hot in it. There are windows but the tent is covered and the nylon seems to retain the heat.
This is one of the few toys that have lasted for so long and that is still played with. It reaches a wide age range of children and is suitable for both boys and girls and is something that a group of friends can play with together. Socialization and imagination is used most with this toy.
