The Playmobil knights have appeared in a lot of different themes; the Duo sets were incredible and I am hoping that the designers are going to add more to the line up. Even though this isn't technically a Dup set, it is a nice find for five or six dollars. Why is it such a great deal? Because you are getting two great looking knights, weapons, helmets and the wings for an elite knight. One of the nicest things about this set is that the knights have completely different colors and designs to them. If you liked the Red Dragon Knights Leader [Playmobil 7974] then you are going to love the knight that comes with this set. While they look almost identical there are differences. The shield and torso have different patterns to them. If you are looking to add some great looking knights to your castle or jousting arena, this is one of the absolute best values you are going to find on a regularly priced set.

Red Knight: While he does look like the Red Dragon Knight Leader, as mentioned there are some visual differences to them. The torso and the shield are the biggest differences. The shape of the shield is non-typical but it's the black detailed wings that really give him a great look. There are two swords with the set so you can use either one with either knight. That's hard to do with the shields because they are color specific. The use of the red and black colors works perfectly wit the non-metallic silver used on the shoulder harness for the wings, helmet and top crest. There are a lot of ways that you can add details to this and since it is standard size you can use weapons and accessories from other sets with it for a unique look.

Green Knight: While I would have gone with a purple color instead of green, this knight still has a great design to the torso and the Celtic design on the shield is amazing. He has a slightly enclosed helmet but thankfully you can still see most of his face while it's on. The two shades of green work great with each other and don't get in the way of the non-metallic silver. He has silver accents on the pieces of armor and his boots are done in the same color. While he isn't my favorite in the set, he looks great in just about any kind of medieval, castle or battle scene. He's got a sweet modified dragon pattern on the torso but it isn't strong enough that you can't have him with almost all of the different themes and styles of knights. There aren't a lot of knights from Playmobil that have a total green appearance so I am sure that there are people that are going to want to get these for their collection.

Even tough some people might not use these two together; getting them in one pack for five to six dollars is a great deal. There have been a couple different variations of the red knight but this is the first time I've seen a completely green knight outside of the Green Knight Collection [3 Green Dragon Knights, Green Dragon Leader and Green Dragon Fighter] but those were darker in color and we part of a min theme. For the price this is something that is extremely hard to pass up if you are in to the Playmobil castle or medieval themed sets but it also works great with the newer Dragon Land theme too. It's a nice small gift, stocking stuffer or something that you can use to surprise your Playmobil lover whether they are in to getting the complete sets or just collecting the various mini figures.
