Pros: Versatile. Fun with other sets or on it's own. Glows-in-the-Dark.
Cons: Small pieces, not recommended for kids under 3.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. It's lots of fun with other Playmobil sets and just as much fun on it's own. Excellent quality and durability. Best of all, it glows in the dark.

| robotnut's Full Review: Playmobil Skeleton Mummy |
This is definitely one cool Playmobil figure. It is officially called "Skeleton Relic" Item # 7269 in the Playmobil catalog. They classify this as an Add On item, which just means that it's an accessory that you can buy to add to any playset you already own.
The Skeleton Relic comes in 3 pieces: the skeleton and 2 halves of the mummy coffin. The quality and detailing of the pieces is excellent, as is with most of the Playmobil stuff. The skeleton is articulated with moving arms, bends at the waist, and the skull can be turned 360 degrees around the neck and to some degree also up and down. He has the same gripping hands as all the other Playmobil figures, but unlike other Playmobil figures, his hands do not rotate at the wrist. You can pop the skull and legs off completely and scatter his bones around. The arms appear more difficult to remove but I guess you could if you really wanted to. I haven't tried this myself yet. The mummy coffin is textured with simulated bandage wrappings and has two eye holes cut out. The two halves fit together perfectly with just a very slight snap, and are easy for little kids to take apart again.
The skeleton by itself fits in well with a number of the different Playmobil themes, well...maybe not so much with the Christmas theme, but everything else. If you have one of the Playmobil castles, he's perfect to throw into the dungeon. Get 5 or 6 of them and put together a skeleton pirate crew. Or, bury him and have your Adventure expedition team "discover" the remains. The mummy coffin fits all standard size Playmobil figures, so you can mummify other figures (as long as they're not heavily accessorized) besides the skeleton.
Even if you don't have any other Playmobil sets, the Skeleton Relic is fun on it's own. One thing I haven't mentioned yet is that the skeleton glows in the dark. For some scary fun, before you go to bed at night, take the skeleton out of it's coffin and put it under the light for several minutes. You can do this as you're brushing your teeth. Then right before you jump into bed, put the skeleton back in it's coffin and put it on the nightstand next to your bed. When you turn out the lights, you will have two eerie, glowing eyes staring at you in the dark.
If you want to get one of these, chances are you won't find it at stores like Toys R Us or Target. The easiest way to get it is by ordering it online at www.playmobil.com. It's priced at $2.99 + shipping. Unlike the Playmobil Specials or Playmobil Pals figures which come in a little box, the Skeleton Relic just comes in a baggie perforated with air holes, which I guess is so he won't die on you during shipping?
