| ashleyf3's Full Review: Playskool 1-2-3 High Chair |
Well, we bought this highchair for our first child. At the time it was one of the first reclining seats for infant feedings. I told my husband this was something we really needed to buy! Well, it was wonderful at first when our child was an infant.
The problems started when she began eating table foods. The food would get all under the plastic seat and then the seat cover ripped from too much cleaning. My daughter loved spaghetti and as we know you don't give them a bowl - just throw it on the tray b/c it ends up there anyway :) Well, the tomato sauce never would fully come off the tray. I washed it within 30 minutes and it still ruined the tray!
Another problem I found was how difficult it was to adjust the height and the recline position. It took so much effort and caused a great deal of FRUSTRATION! I finally bought a new high chair before my third child was born and I was happy to see this one go!
Now this highchair did have one good feature - the straps were detachable so you could throw them in the washer.
I wish they would let some toddlers test the highchairs out so they could see how durable they really are. Now this was two or more years ago when we purchased ours so maybe they have improved them - but I would beware. Make sure whatever highchair you choose has easy to clean straps, the position/heights are easy to adjust, non-staining tray (they make them like that now - wonderful!), and a good padding that is sturdy and stays in place well.
