| melissasrn's Full Review: Playskool Bob The Builder: Muck The Talking Truck |
As stated in several of my previous Bob the Builder toy reviews, I told many family members during the most recent holiday season that these collectable toys would make great gifts for my young Bob the Builder fan. My 2.5 year old son, Tristan, immensely enjoys the Bob the Builder animated television program that currently airs weekdays on nickjr at 12:30PM EST. So along with other great selections, my son received this Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck for Christmas last year. Much larger in size than her Dizzy the Talking Truck friend who is packaged in the same type of box, Muck has a personality all her own as she takes her place among the Bob the Builder figures and machinery that Tristan now owns. Read on to find out more about this inexpensive yet entertaining toy.
~~~The Toy~~~
Recommended for preschoolers ages 2 to 6 years, this Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck is a dark orange in color (and not yellowish as pictured above by Epinions) and repeats four different phrases from the popular TV program. Measuring approximately 3 inches wide and 6.5 inches long, Muck features a front digger that manually moves up and down as well as a back dumper that does the same. While the two dozer wheels you can see on the sides do not move, she had four "hidden" wheels underneath her that allows Muck to move both forward and backward when pushed. According to packaging advertising: She's a digger/dumper who likes a muddy good time! A loyal friend and hard worker, Muck lends a digger or dumper to help with even the yuckiest, muckiest jobs! Young Bob the Builder fans will want to collect all six of the talking vehicles, including this one, as most are small in size and mix and match with other playsets within this preschool program's theme. Requiring 3 "button-cell" batteries (which DO come included, by the way!), this Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck is a bulldozer/loader that kids of both genders are sure to enjoy for hours on end.
~~~Price & Availability~~~
The Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck may be purchased in the toy department of many discount stores, such as Wal-Mart, as well as online at places such as www.kbtoys.com and www.etoys.com for anywhere from $7.99 to $9.99 each. Look for post holiday clearance sales, and chances are you'll find her at an even cheaper price. I noticed that my local Wal-Mart still carries lots of the Bob the Builder toys, so I hope to pick up a few of Muck's friends soon before they are all gone. ~~~Play Experience~~~
Played with alone or along side all her other colorful, talking friends from the popular preschool television program, this Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck repeats four separate phrases in no particular order when the black button on top of her cab is pushed. These include: "Ha, ha, ha!" "I can dump it!" "Yeah, Yeah, I Love Surprises!" and "I love gettin' dirty!" Her child like voice is neither too loud nor too soft, so even though she had no "on-off" switch, it takes a long time for Muck to become irritating to the adults. Tristan likes to push the button over and over again just to see what phrase she's going to say next. Featuring a big smile and happy eyes on the front of her vehicle, the Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck looks far from feminine, and she works just as hard as her male machine friends do and then some.
~~~Overall Recommendation~~~
Whether it's your preschooler's first Bob the Builder toy or his/her tenth, this Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck makes a great addition to your child's collection. Her helpful and energetic voice encourages children to play along and work hard in order to get the job done. Smaller toys can be scooped up with her digger and then dumped out from behind, so Muck's talking ability isn't her only attractive feature. As Tristan's Bob the Builder collection of toys continues to grow, his interest in the television program remains high. And he's yet to tire of all the related toys he's accumulated so far, including this Playskool Bob the Builder: Muck the Talking Truck. So without hesitation, she comes highly recommended from my family. Good luck and happy toy shopping!
This is an animated show that focuses on team work, friendship, problem solving, and cooperation.
