| kld718's Full Review: Playskool Silly Suitcase Mr. Potato Head |
Mr. Potato Head is one of those have to have toys for every child. I remember having one as a child and had no second thoughts of buying Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase recently for my nephews birthday. As I thought, he was more than happy to receive it.
Mr. Potato Head has changed a little from the guy I used to have as a child. I never even knew this silly suitcase one was available until I happened to walk by it in the store. My thinking would be that he would enjoy this more than the regular Mr. Potato Head. I purchased this on sale at Toys R Us for $11.99, but have seen it elsewhere anywhere from $12-$15.
Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase comes with 28 pieces and is for ages 2 and up. You also get a clear, plastic suitcase looking container, equipped with its own handle and everything to store the numerous pieces. The plastic container is very easy to get into and my nephew needs no help to do it. The small latch at the top simply pops on to the little knob to close and pops over it to open. Each of the pieces listed below have a peg on the back that juts out to fit itself into a hole on the potato body.

~*~ My Thoughts ~*~
Sometimes even the oldest toys that have been around forever can create an endless amount of fun for children these days. I remember loving to create the different faces and looks on my Mr. Potato Head. Now, with the Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase, my nephew can create more than just funny faces as the set comes with all sorts of different pieces. He also has the option of making either a female or male potato head.
I was a little worried about my nephew loosing some of the different pieces, but over the course of two months, he has cleaned up each time and put all of the pieces back into the suitcase until the next time he plays with them. I explained to him that there was a reason for the suitcase and he would be required to put the pieces away every time, and he does. He also now has the option of carrying this convenient toy over to grandmas house when he wants to because the case is small enough for him to carry by the handle and locks securely so that he will not loose any of the pieces.
Mr. Potato Head still has the conveniently hollow body that we remember as children. This of course allows you to store more pieces in his removable back if needed. My nephew never chooses to do this though
he prefers to keep them in the suitcase separately. Each piece can go into any hole on the body, which can definitely prove to provide entertainment for any child by making up this potato, especially if they are silly. This also provides stimulation for your childs fine motor skills.
Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase is made for ages 2 and up. I wouldnt recommend buying this toy for children under that age because of the many pieces factor. The pieces are all made of different colors, so this toy could also be used to help your children learn their colors as they grow older. Each piece has proved to be able to hold up under my nephews ruthless fingers, so this is definitely a durable enough toy.
Overall, my nephew and I are thoroughly satisfied with Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase, as I knew we would be. I definitely recommend it to any child that can be responsible enough to keep track of all the little pieces. Your child will thoroughly enjoy playing with it.
