Pros: No streaking or smearing, no build up, light lemon scent.
For a while I tried using Pledge Furniture Polish wipes, but sadly, I was disappointed with the streaking and smearing, and generally had to finish it off with a cloth anyway, so I decided I'd go back to an aerosol spray. This one by Pledge is doing a fine job.
~ Product Description
This comes in an aerosol can with a typical large-button sprayer you push with your index finger. The can declares this furniture polish provides "natural beauty, shine, restore, refresh." Of course it has a lemon scent. You can find this in the larger 17-7/10 oz. size, or the smaller 7 oz. size. The smaller size is easier to hold, I discovered. It's also available in an anti-dust formula, and protects from water spills and stains.
This is a no-wax formula, with no residue build-up. Pledge tells us in addition to wood furniture you can use this on stainless steel, leather, marble, and granite.
The directions for use say to shake the can first before using, and then spray onto a soft, clean cloth, or hold the container upright and spray directly onto the surface, from about 8 inches away. Wipe immediately. It's suggested that if the finish is unknown, to test first on an inconspicuous area.
Do not use this near fire, flame or a pilot light. Also, don't use this on floors because it could make them slippery. This is not a wood floor cleaner!
~ My Experience
The sprayer works fine, and as anticipated. It has a fairly wide spray pattern. Sometimes the spray is inconsistent, with some bigger drips of polish mixed in with the very fine spray. Not a huge deal really. I've found if I spray in very short, quick sprays, that is minimized. I always spray directly onto the furniture. I suppose if I sprayed into the cloth I wouldn't even have noticed that.
In any case, after a slight spray over the furniture, I just wipe with a dry, clean cloth and my furniture is bright, polished and looks great! After polishing with the cloth there is no smeary residue or streaking.
Pledge Furniture Polish has a lemony scent, but it isn't heavy or perfumy. A pretty unremarkable lemon-type scent that pretty much goes away in a short while.
I have dark wood furniture, which really looks so great all polished up, so I used this fairly often. I haven't noticed any build-up to speak of. It does seem to help resist water and stains, which is a plus. My coffee table is a dark wood with faux leather insets. I can use Pledge on the wood and the "leather" and it cleans, shines, and protects both beautifully.
I've even used this on my stainless steel sink, and wow! it really shines it up and helps to resist the water marks.
~ Final Thoughts
Pledge Furniture Polish Lemon Scent is a nice, basic aerosol polish that cleans and shines, with a light lemon scent, and doesn't smear or streak.
