I am a frequent visitor to both the Sunset (627 Irving Street) and the Marina (3258 Scott Street) locations and enjoy Pluto's when I am in the mood for a quick but wholesome meal.
Pluto's has an interesting set-up...when you walk in, you proceed directly to the rear and pick up a menu card, which gets "punched" by the servers as you order each item.
My favorite items: the carved turkey (although on one occasion it was very dry) and the steak (made to order)...there is also a nice variety of vegetables (typically, corn, string beans, mashed potatoes, and one other choice) and the onion rings are fantastic (try the great dipping sauce that accompanies them)...
The decor is basic but functional...this is not a place to bring a date to impress her, but it is a great place for quick, dependable, reasonably priced food...
