Initially, I bought this 2-pack because Pokemon intrigued me early on. I played the Gameboy games a bit and found them fun, but these two looked rather interesting.
This set includes Pokemon number 52; Meowth and number 94; Gengar. As with the other 2-packs, Meowth and Gengar also include a white and clear purple Pokeball (which is what Pokemon Trainers use to catch the Pokemon) and two pogs (cardboard discs), one depicting each character on the front and the name and number on the back.
Meowth:
According to his pog, Meowth is 1'4" tall and weighs in at 9 lbs. Not bad for a little cat-like thing. The actual toy, however, measures in at 1 3/4" and is posed standing upright. Meowth is an off-yellow color with gray/brown highlights and black-tipped ears. He has a cute, yet slightly deceptive smile on his face with two fangs sticking out (one on either side). He also has the distinction of being one of the main characters on the cartoon show as the mascot of Team Rocket.
Gengar:
Though actually only about 1 1/2" tall, in the "real" world of Pokemon, Gengar would measure at 4'11" and weigh 89 lbs. Not bad for a ghosty. He is molded out of a clear, dark purple plastic. He has lots of little prickly spines on his back and an evil grin plastered on his mug. His eyes are molded and painted with a downward slant, giving Gengar a truly mischievous look.
Neither of these toys have any articulation. They are small statues, but then so are those green army men and kids have fun with those so it probably won't matter to them anyway.
If you or your children are a fan of the phenomenon that is Pokemon, you should definitely pick up this set. Though I should warn that because of their size, they may present a choking hazard for smaller children.
