Pros: Arguably the best on the market-
However, all is not as it seems...
Cons: Extortionate repair charges
Promises so much yet delivers so little
The Bottom Line: Great for the techno freak or those who ENJOY pounding the streets. If you value your money than I'd stay away, otherwise GOOD LUCK!

| gblackflash's Full Review: Polar Accurex Plus |
If you’ve never handled an Accurex plus you’ve probably wondered what fantastic function the enormous red button does on the front display. Well when pressed firmly it produces a flimsy little light, impressed? I know I wasn’t. Well in retrospect I guess it kind of represents the whole watch: so much promise but in reality a little disappointing.
Don’t get me wrong I like the Accuex, I really do-well alright i don’t but I admit it has oodles of features including: recovery rate, storage of pulse rates, nifty automatic light that comes on when you bring the watch to the belt, alarm, setting lower/upper boundaries for pulse rate, light (however disillusioning) and loads more.
The first sign of their being dilemma between me and my accurex was shortly after parting with my £170 genuinely shocked when, after having bought the watch, I was told I’d have to pay another £180 to buy the interface box to link my watch up to my home computer.
Then there’s the size it’s not surprising that with so many functions the watch is bulky, and unfortunately if you have, as most people do, a wrist smaller than Sly Stallone it may look a little bit ungainly
Finally, I get to my most sore point, and something that still evokes strong feelings in me: repair charges. If it’s for a new battery than all fine but anyone who accidentally damages their watch then it’s pretty much GAME OVER for them. The repair fees are so extortionate that it’s almost pointless to repair the goddamn thing! You must forgive me for my ferocity but if you have not gathered already, I had an unfortunate accident with my watch… involving a washing machine
I wouldn’t want to seem bitter and sour after my unpleasant experience nor would I like to be though of as on a crusade to boycott all of polar heart rate monitors (though it would be satisfying ,he he!). I just feel it my responsibility to speak out, as one of the little people, on my unfortunate case and not let anybody fall in the same trap as I myself.
