this item i got at a walmart in western massacusetts for only $99. it came with a small remote control to add to my laziness when the moment so calls for it. ha ha ha. the sceen is very nice for a small portable unit. i expected it to be lack luster or so-so at best but it surprised me quote a bit. i can also play CD's on it. the part i was not crazy about was the sound. just like a lap top computer has so-so sound compared to its brother the desktop, this is no different. the sounds was way too monoline, not stereo effects. if you want to watch a DVD that has great sound to it stick with the traditional at home entertinment centers. this one is not your pick. but for a dvd on the road or watching movie in bed before you fall alseep this is ideal. i am still playing with it to see if i can set up a video game system to it but that will come later on i suppose. the price i gotit for makes this one a fantastic deal that makes this units cons fade away. overall the picture is excellent, the dvd controls are great, the sound doesnt hold up to the real thing though
