Pros: 180 degree Swivel action, good sound, Electronic Skip Protection
Cons: It could be even smaller, the lid is funny
The Bottom Line: One of the better portable DVD players we have own. It could have been even smaller and the DVD lid is a little funny. My daughter loves this DVD player.
texas-swede's Full Review: Polaroid DPA-07046P 7 in. Portable DVD Player with...
We currently have three different kinds of portable DVD players. We own one pink Polaroid DPA 07046 (this one), two silvery Polaroid PDM 2727, and one Coby TF-DVD7107 Portable DVD Player. The portable DVD player concept is great. It allows you to easily entertain the kids while you travel by car, train, or airplane. However, we have used our portable DVD players for a lot of other purposes, for example, for sleep over occasions, camp outs, or when you are tired and want to watch a screen close up in bed, or when you want to watch different movies.
The Coby TF-DVD7107 Portable DVD Player is slightly smaller then other two and I think that one is my favorite. However, the pink Polaroid DPA 07046 is my nine year olds favorite because it is pink and it swivels. I should say that I also like the Polaroid DPA 07046 better than the Polaroid PDM 2727 despite it being pink, because the controls are situated very nicely right by the DVD insert and it swivels. It also has good sound. The swivel action comes in handy when a couple of people are watching a movie in bed. We have used it hundreds of times and we have not noticed any degradation in performance.
About the Polaroid DPA 07046P DVD player
We have taken the Polaroid DPA 07046 DVD player in the car on bumpy roads, and on many other kinds of outings, and this has not been any problem so far. The built-in Electronic Skip Protection function allows for an uninterrupted picture even on bumpy roads and bumpy beds. It comes with headphones which allow some quiet while the kids are being entertained. The screen is 7 inch which is large enough for close up viewing. The picture is quite good and you can still see at an angle. However, the picture is not of perfect quality and it becomes blurred if the viewing angle is too large. The sounds is also good, the controls are position perfectly (in my opinion), and 180 degree swiveling action is really nice. I think that the DVD player lid could be better. You have to press the open button and lift the lid to get it opened. Even though it is fairly small I think they could have made either another inch less wide or made the screen an inch larger (8 inch wide).

This is one of the better portable DVD players we have own (and have owned) and we are happy with it. However, it is not perfect. It could have been even smaller and the DVD lid is a little funny. However, my daughter loves this DVD player.
