| willeftk's Full Review: Pooh - Baby's First Pooh |
We needed help at our house. We have a nine month old baby who has proven that things that worked for children one and two may NOT work this time. Bedtime is one such experience. Our third has given us fits that his older siblings would never have dreamed of! About a month ago my sweet little number three decided to declare war on night time. He would scream for an hour after being left to go sleep for the night. This problem was absent for his day time naps and left me perplexed. He is a thumb sucker, but I was beginning to wonder if he just needed a pal to help him get to sleep.
I began the search for a new bed time buddy for the baby. I looked at lots of different stuffed animals, but there was always something that didn't appeal to me. I had prior dealings with "loveys" and knew that whatever it was would need to be machine washable and free from any frills or doo-dads that might be picked off over years of use. I had all but given up when I came across this Pooh.
This Pooh Bear is made for babies! Pooh is a Disney-style Pooh dressed in a red shirt. All of his features are sewn on, removing the possibility that the baby might pick eyes off. He is extremely soft and almost velvety to touch. He has an adorable grin and stands about 8 inches tall. Our baby loves to play with Pooh's ears. They are great for chewing and flipping.
The good news is that he is, indeed, machine washable! Just stuff him in a pillow case first and wash away. Another great feature about this toy is the price, I purchased him for the low, low price of $7.99. The price made it worth a try all on it's own. If by some horrid act of irresponsibility, Pooh gets left somewhere, buying another would not be a financial burden.
Pooh has found his place at bed time now. He waits patiently in the crib for the baby and is always ready when we need him. The baby is sleeping so much better now and giggles with delight when he sees Pooh is there to greet him.
