Now that the hot weather is here everyone is thinking of way to keep cool even down to putting a pool in, be it in ground or an above ground pool There is nothing more enjoyable for kids and the family than splashing around and driving away the heat.
With having a pool there is also safety concerns for everyone. You want to be sure that your children and pets don’t fall in and drown or that the neighbor children don’t climb over the fence and fall in.
Kids and pets are quick, turn your back for a second and they are in the middle of something not even knowing that they could hurt themselves very seriously so, you want to place a fence around your pool and purchase an alarm that will let you know if a kid or animal crosses the beam and heads for the pool. You want to try to protect you most precious possessions and sometimes things just take your attention away for a split second and in that split second the worst possible thing can happen. You could loose a child to drowning or your pet.
Pool alarms are fairly new on the market and I think that a lot of them are wonderful. They can put your mind at ease but can’t take the place of you keeping a watchful eye for your child or pet but if you have to turn away for a split second then they will sound and let you know that the child or pet has crossed over into a danger zone.
Now that you have made up your mind for an alarm you need to check the different kinds on the market.
I have had the opportunity to use Poolguard Pool Alarm GAPT.
FEATURES
The Poolguard Pool Alarm GAPT mounts to any door or gate that you access to your pool by.
It runs on once 9- volt battery, the alarm will sound if any child goes through the gate or door within seven seconds of entry and will continue until someone comes to the gate or door to shut it off. The alarm will automatically reset itself and continuously monitors your gate.
The alarm is made of gray PVC and comes with all the hardware you need to mount it and six feet of cord.
There is a delay on the alarm that lets adults enter without tripping it, it also comes with a one -year warranty.
Now if you notice the name of the alarm is Poolguard Pool Alarm GAPT but it isn’t even mounted near the pool. It monitors the opening of a gate or door that leads to the pool.
Just suppose you don’t have fence directly around the pool but around your yard. This isn’t going to help you one bit except for knowing that someone is entering your yard.
Then kids will be kids and it won’t monitor if one climbs your fence and enters the pool. You will have to depend on your watchful eye to know this.
The alarm that the Poolguard Pool Alarm GAPT makes isn’t very loud and with all the air conditioners on you would never hear it from inside.
If you child or pet accidentally falls into the pool the alarm won’t be of any help to you. Kids do sneak out of the house. It could be too late once you realize that your child is missing. Remember it only takes a split second for this to happen.
This alarm should be named Gate alarm. It does nothing more than monitor the gate or door. Even kids can activate the delay when going in and out.
To me your best bet for an alarm is the laser alarms that children can’t override and the alarms that when something falls into the pool it is activated. Not an alarm that only guards a gate or door.
Thanks for reading.
