The Pantazis5 are the new proud pet owners of Cosmo and Wanda...two very sweet and lively little cockatiels.

These yellow cheeked grey little birds have tremendous personality. They are learning to whistle the Andy Griffith Theme song. They look forward to our arrival home from work. They make every minute happy. They have but one problem. Their poop is like cement!

I went into bird pet ownership with very little knowledge. It happened overnight. So the first time I cleaned their cage I was surprised at how difficult it was to get it clean. I knew immediately that there had to be a product that made this process easier. I went to Dr. Fosters website and ordered a bottle of Poop-Off Bird poop remover. I paid 12.00 for the 16 oz bottle. It came with a brush attached on top. I got the item in the mail two days later.

I immediately tried the product. To begin with, I opened the top and took off the red plastic piece, just as the directions stated. Now, I also took off the white bottle cover before returning the lid with the brush to the top of the

bottle. I think this was a mistake because when I turned the bottle up to squeeze out solution I used nearly half the bottle right away. I did not need this much product and ended up wasting some unfortunately. There is already an opening in the white cover seal under the lid. Do not remove this completely or you too shall waste solution.

The scent of this product immediately made me think of the scent of bowling alley shoes. Not unpleasant but not really pleasant either. Poop Off says that it dissolves the cement-like bird poop. I would say that it softens the bird droppings allowing for quicker clean up. The brush is a wonderful feature. It cleans the waste right up with a scrub. This product does not clean up the stain that is left behind on bird perches though.

Now, I am scared to death about strong scents around my favorite birds. This product is safe and non toxic. The scent does not linger so the bird cage will not smell like a bowling alley.

This product says it is a stain remover, but it also says it removes stains from fabrics. I think this is why stains on my wooden bird perches do not seem to come off from this product. Stains on other plastic perches are removed.

The ingredients are: filtered water, active enzymes, surfactant, and avian safe fragrance.

This product is a good product. I have now used two bottles of it on my bird cage and toys and perches. It is made in California and touts that it is used by zoos, aviaries, breeders, boaters, veterinarians. It is 100 % safe for birds. Cosmo and Wanda recommend it!
