Pros:bright colors, durable
Cons:continually have to push button
The Bottom Line: A no-frills, entertaining baby toy. Not very educational, but may teach simple cause and effect, and help develop motor skills.

Emma received this toy from her grandmother for Christmas. She has a hard time making it work just yet, but is very interested in it.

The Playskool Pop 'N Spin Top is a toy that consist of a clear plastic circle on top of a purple base that contains 4 balls. One of each of green, blue, red, and orange. Just above the base, there is a spinning platform that has green, blue, and orange stripes on the sides that look "groovy" when the top is in use. The platform has two "fins" protruding from the top of it.

On top of that platform, there is a circular plastic piece with holes cut into it that the balls rest in. This plastic piece does not turn.

When the big red button is depressed, it causes the platform to spin, thus making the "fins" hit the four balls sending them into orbit around the top. During the time it takes to stop, the action is slowly coming to a stop, making the balls settle back into the holes in the plastic, and moving, but not flying when the "fins" hit them. It's not just a sudden stop.

The big red push button is large enough for small hands to depress. However, for a young infant, you may need to help them press the button. As the action only lasts for 1-15 seconds, you must continually press the button, which is the only con to this incredible simple, but entertaining toy.

Underneath the balls, there is a
