| dressperfect's Full Review: Portable Massage Table with Rests |
I am a new massage student. I just started our required program which is 500 hours and one year long. Were required to give two massages and receive one each week. So basically we needed a table within the first couple weeks of class. Id only taken a Massage Intro course and an Anatomy course prior, so I had no idea what to look for in a Massage Table.
The tables we use in class are Custom Craftworks Athenas - which are excellent tables and run about $600+. Id heard of other excellent tables from quality companies like Oakworks, Earthlite, Golden Ratio (around the same price). When you order one of these tables, you personalize and specify width, height, foam padding, accessories, upholstery etc.
Basically I decided to get a starter table for a cheap price, then spend the year learning about what type of Massage I will be most interested in. And through interacting with classmates, attending conferences, and my internships, I thought Id be more prepared to invest $600+ in exactly the table I wanted and needed for my new career.
I searched the internet and eBay. I decided on this LifeGear Deluxe Portable Massage Table. It came with an adjustable face cradle, arm rest, AND quality carry case. I purchased it on eBay for $227 which includes shipping from the seller excitingsales. I received it via FedEx direct to my door in 3 days. It is very easy to set up and take down, and I am incredibly impressed with its quality.
Specifics:
It is 29" in Width
Has 10 height adjustment settings (26"-36")
Is 73" in length (85" with face cradle)
The face cradle is adjustable
The arm rest has two adjustable levels
The weight capacity is 500 lbs (most of the $600 are only 400-450lbs)
The carry case is of exceptional quality.
I highly recommend this table! If there were any negatives, they would be: though the padding is excellent quality and durability, it seemed too firm for my taste so I purchased a fleece pad to put between the table and sheet ($20 - problem solved). And I weighed it as 42 pounds with case and accessories. Many of the higher-end portable tables are lighter 25-35 pounds. This may be a factor if you travel a lot or if you are petite. Im 5'8", 150lbs, healthy and 42 pounds is still very portable to me, especially when I feel I received a $600 for a $200 price!
I hope this helps! Good luck!
