Pros: Light-weight and easy to load. Great for most all moulding applications
Cons: Indeterminant depth gauge adjustment
The Bottom Line: If you're going to put up moulding and you don't want to be hammering for days, get this nailer.

| cjl_mll's Full Review: Porter-Cable 2 1/2" Finish Nailer FN250A |
I recently used my finish nailer for decorating my new baby's room. Decided to frame an eye-level border with a small decorative moulding on top and a shelf on the bottom. The shelf was made out of base moulding, 2 5/8 crown, and a 1x4 piece of #1 pine. Needless to say, the project grew to a size where hammer nailing and a punch would have made it a night-mare!
The finish nailer made quick work of the job. My compressor is a 4.5 / 15 gallon Porter-Cable (PC) oil-free. 8.0 SCFM @ 40PSI and 5.7 SCFM @ 90PSI. The gun is designed to operate between 70 and 120 PSI, so i set the regulator at 85PSI. The nailer delivered quick trigger response and the padded "foot" did not mark a single piece, even the pine. All the mouldings were held very tight (used PC recommended nails). So tight that when i did make a mistake, it took some doing to loosen the nail. I guess the only thing i would have liked more, would be a better guage to adjust nail depth. Also if you're going to put up a lot of crown moulding, spend the extra money on the angle nailer. I found it very easy to turn the gun side-ways, but in a corner you'll need to turn the gun around. Easy to put up with considering the cost difference. The instruction manual is very descriptive and found it easy to translate from words to actual gun.
Overall experience was great, in fact, i just order the FR-350 framing nailer.
