Pros: Generally low up-front cost, but you get what you pay for.
Cons: Short service life.
Cut-out point not user adjustable.
This unit is intentionally designed to wear prematurely. How do I know? Because they made it WITHOUT ANY AIR FILTERS on the air intake!!! And made it so that it would be nearly impossible for the purchaser to add intake filters.
I've replaced the piston/cylinder on my unit twice due to airborne abrasives being sucked into the cylinder. I hate it when a company makes products that not only aren't designed to last, but are intentionally designed to fail.
This unit is really loud, such that you do not want to be in the same room when it's running. Very annoying and unsafe for your hearing.
And the pressure switch is not adjustable on the cut-out pressure... not a word in the manual about adjusting cut-on or cut-off pressures (though there is a cut-on adjustment screw under a blob of hot glue).
This unit is notorious for pressure switch and/or premature wearing/leaking problems... Google: Porter Cable CF2600 won't turn off.
But hey, if you're into buying a loud, throw-away compressor with limited user adjustability, these are cheap... and you get what you pay for.
Bottom line is that I won't be buying Porter Cable in the future. I will invest in an sealed oil-bath compressor, as they are as quiet as a refrigerator, last a long time and are user adjustable.
