| dlstewart's Full Review: Post-it Recycled Pop-Up Note Pad Multi-Pack Refill... |
I wanted something different. I was bored using plain yellow Post-It Notes. So when I spied these Post-It Pop-Up Multi-pack Notes in Aquatic Colors, I closed my eyes to the price and ordered them.
Description
These Post-It Pop-Up Notes are refills for a Post-It Pop-Up dispenser. Six pads come in the multi-pack. There are three different colors; two pads of each color. The note pads measure 2 7/8 x 2 7/8. There are 100 sheets to each pad.
The colors, as you can imagine from the aquatic word in the name
are reminiscent of the ocean. There are two shades of blue and a purple.
Light Aquatic Blue This is a beautiful solid aqua-blue color. It is a light blue, but not like sky blue or baby blue. It has deeper tones that hint of tropical waters (if one is using their imagination).
Turquoise Blue This pad is a brighter blue flecked with bits of white. The color is more vivid than the other blue pad (mentioned above).
Light Purple This color is a pale purple with white flecks throughout the paper. The color is understated and more subdued of the three colors in this multi-pack.
My Experiences
These Post-It Pop-Up Notes are easy to insert into the dispenser on my desk. In case you are not familiar with Pop-up Notes, they are designed like tissues that pop one after another out of a tissue box. Pull one Pop-Up note from the dispenser and it comes free, leaving a portion of the next Pop-Up Note visible in the dispenser.
I dont know what it is about easy-open packaging, but I usually end up needing a hatchet to get through it. Each Post-It Note pad comes wrapped in plastic with an easy-tear-strip that is supposed to remove the end of the plastic so that the pad slides free. Sometimes the tear-strips work fine, and other times they dont. I freely admit that I am easy-open package challenged!
The assortment of three colors in this package is nice on the eyes. The notes offer a visual reprieve from the yellow Post-It Notes also on my desk. The colors of these notes are tranquil, too. Definitely easy on the eyes. If you are after Post-It Notes that are immediately visible, you might want to consider another color. The yellow Post-It Notes grab my attention quicker than the Aquatic color notes. However, the Aquatic color paper looks elegant compared to the yellow. I save the blue and purple notes to use on special communications
such as documents that I mail where I need to write an additional note.
These notes are on a nice paper, too. While the paper is flexible, it has substance to it. I like the smooth feel of it, and it appears to have some weight to it versus other flimsy types of paper.
Other than the color, these Post-It Pop-Up Notes work the same as any other Post-It product. They stick well to paper. I even attached one the other day to the bottom of my computer monitor. Note that on the back of each package it says: Notes may mark some surfaces or lift inks. Colors may bleed when wet. I havent had any problems.
Despite their different color paper, it is easy to write on these Post-It Notes. I usually write with blue or black ballpoint ink or pencil. These work well and are easy to read. However, yellow highlighter ink does not show up well.
Purchasing
These Post-It Pop-Up Notes are a bit more expensive than the traditional yellow color. This 6-pack cost $6.99 from StaplesLink.com. The regular Staples.com website offers them for $8.85.
Summary
I am very pleased with these Post-It Pop-Up Multi-pack Notes in Aquatic Colors. They offered me a pleasant color change from the traditional yellow Post-It Pop-up notes. I wouldnt say that I feel any closer to the ocean using these Aquatic colored pads, but they are soothing to the eye
and perhaps if I hold one of the pads to my ear, maybe Ill hear the sound of the ocean.
I hope you have found this review useful.
Enjoy the day,
