Precision Pet Products, Precision Pet 2 Door Great Crate is a well made durable wire kennel providing shelter, refuge, exposure to air and visibility for Guye the Dog especially when we travel. 

I have several crates, taking in a number of abandoned, need a home critters has led to multiple purchase of sleeping containers, beds, and even crates, as well as travel items. 

Some crates are small designed for small critters and are used for toting small cats to and from the vet.  Other crates are large and are used by some of the critters as sleeping huts.

Available in sizes ranging for critters weighing 10 pounds to 110 pounds and having both front and and sidewall doors these crates are versatile, easy to set up and provide an added sense of safe haven realizing nothing will attack or hurt, steal food or threaten and retreat for critters who may have faced some hard times prior to coming to our porch.

No assembly is required, I like that.

A good pet crate needs to be well-built, but should be light enough to move easily. While we do  not crate critters on a permanent or even semi permanent basis; I do have several available in case they are needed as new, ill or elderly occupant needs a place of refuge where they can see friends, but are separated in comfort where we can keep an eye on them.  I find I can place a small animal in a large crate much easier than trying to put a larger critter into a smaller one.  I prefer larger to small crates as a general rule.

I like that using a crate offers a nice personal space where I can keep an eye on the new critter to the group, but one that also provides enough separation from the whole crowd until the new one is calmed and ready to join the mix.

Opportunities for socialization are abundant within the safety of the crate; the present group look over the new kid, the newbie can look back and begin to form relationships without worry of any type attack.  Most of the abandoned critters we have taken in have spent a bit of time in one crate or another prior to first vet visit and then again during the first days of getting acquainted.

Crates are easy to clean, easy to transport and to store, and provide good ventilation for the inhabitant.  I like using crates more than I like sequestering a little critter in a bed or bathroom for a few days alone where they can not see what is going on, on the other side of the door.

I keep one medium sized crate in front of the patio door where a little critter or critter family can sleep, snooze, watch the birds while on top is a sleeping pad available for Guye the Dog, Maddelleine or other little critter.  We have another large size crate in the cage where visitors can sleep in comfort and safety if need be. 

We have a crate folded and ready to unfold as one of the geriatrics shows final days decline.  Placing the little bedfast into nursing care is made easier to monitor food and water intake, litter pan usage and cleaning as needed until the final sad hours arrive and we say good bye to another long time friend.  

Taking in so many abandoned and discarded animals over the years has taught us that many people really know very little about animals; if they did they would never leave a pet with vet to be put down and then disposed of.  Watching the mourning exhibited by the living for the dying has taught us that animals show much more caring and compassion for one another than we had been taught to expect.  And, that the dying exhibit many of the fears, sadness and dignity as do many humans during their final days.

I find the Precision Pet 2 Door Great Crate having dead bolt type latches causing door to lock and stay locked until the dead bolt is released, the washable poly material floor pan, removable divider panel for separation of animals if needed, durable black epoxy finish all come together to create a dandy live in, or shelter in for a time until a new critter or critter family is ready to meet the group.  Meeting others through the see through wire is often less stress producing than trying to meet while crouching beneath the sofa.
