We were looking for a range oven to fill the 36" space that the old stove occupied. I had initially believed that we wanted one of the high-end "commercial grade" models but was dissuaded by the horrible reviews they have received. After looking on the internet, and thinking I liked the specs for the Premiere, I called my nephew who works at one of the last remaining independent appliance stores in Sacramento. I told him what we wanted: a 36" gas range/oven with at least one power burner and without electronic controls. His response: "Have you ever heard of Premiere?" He told me that they had started out special-ordering these for customers with requirements similar to ours and they were always happy with them. He said that he had even recommended one for my (very difficult to please) brother for his vacation home. After using the Premiere, my brother then purchased a second Premiere to replace an expensive "commercial-grade" range at his home which had given him nothing but trouble. My nephew said that the Premiere is now a regularly-stocked item in the store. We have had our Premiere for over two years and have nothing but praise for it. The power burner is like having an instant bonfire on demand and we the use the simmer burner and removable grill frequently.The range continues to work when the power goes out, you just have to light it manually. We have never needed to have it serviced and it still works like when it was new. We are pretty enthusiastic in the kitchen and frequently get boil-overs and splatter. The enamel top cleans up about as easy as anything out there. It would sure be nice if someone could figure out how to make a cook top that was self-cleaning.
