| jlhin's Full Review: Prescriptives Liquid Powder |
It wasn't until recently that I was given the opportunity to try Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder. I had come across it on several online websites, and even passed by the Prescriptives counters because the price seemed outrageous for a loose powder. Sure, there were rave reviews on it here at Epinions, but, $32.50 for a powder!? It must have been in the cards for me to try this product, because I came across an Ebay auction for 6 jars of this for a mere $79.88. Having recently started selling on Ebay again, I couldn't resist the chance to try this powder out and get a chance to make some extra money!
~*~Cost~*~
If you do the math, I only paid $14.98 (which includes the shipping cost) for each 1.2 OZ jar of Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder. Compared to the $32.50 it sells online and at retail stores, this was a steal! You can find this product where Prescriptives products are sold. Prices may vary.
~*~Some Details~*~
Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder is packaged pretty much like all loose powders. It comes in a jar with a screw on lid and the brush is safely nestled in a compartment in the lid of the jar.
According to Prescriptives their Magic Liquid Powder is "An ultra-lucent water powder that works like a cooling mist to refresh the skin. Its soft optics diffuse light to minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles and enhance the effects of foundation."
This powder comes in Translucent Light, Red Neutralizer and Deep Translucent I purchased 6 jars of the Translucent Light. This loose powder can be worn over foundation, or alone. Either way it will provide you with excellent results.
The powder is very soft and light, and very easy to dust on the skin. It doesn't cake at all, and when worn over foundation, doesn't give your skin a fake, caked on look.
~*~My Experience~*~
I have tried a couple "rip offs" of Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder and had good results with them. I figured that those products worked just as well, and at a much better price. It wasn't until I tried Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder that I realized those products couldn't even come close to the awesome results this powder provides!
I have found that it doesn't take much of this powder to give skin that healthy irridescent glow. A light dusting is all it takes. Given the retail price of this product, that is a good thing! I have worn it over my regular foundation and by itself, and I have gotten excellent results both ways. My skin looks soft, and it has a very subtle healthy glow to it.
This powder also gives skin a very refreshing, light, cooling sensation when applied. It reminds me of some Bath & Body Works cooling makeup I used to use, which I loved and can no longer find! It feels slightly wet to the touch, but, goes on like a regular powder. This is a huge plus in my book.
Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder does a wonderful job at softening blemishes. Now, don't get me wrong, it won't get rid of them, but, it will soften the appearance tremendously. It literally just softens the complexion and provides great coverage with very little powder.
I have combination skin, meaning it's oily in some spots, and dry in others. I have particular trouble around my nose and forehead. Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder didn't trouble those oily spots at all! It worked wonderfully with my combination skin.
I have experienced no skin irritations when using this product.
~*~Overall Recommendation~*~
I would highly recommend Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder. With its light cooling sensation and awesome coverage this one is well worth the money!
