Cons:The lid isn't vented- be careful removing lid.

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a durable yet attractive electric skillet then the Presto 6852 Non Stick Electric Skillet is for you.

Our old electric skillet bit the dust after 10 years or more so we went shopping for a new one. The Presto 16-inch Electric Skillet with glass cover is what we decided on and this turned out to be an excellent product. You  do have to assemble the legs on the pan when you open it but its four simple screws. It's large enough for families (aprox. 16" X 12" X 2.5" Deep) and handy enough for one or two. It's got a non stick surface that is second to none, I have made a few casseroles with no sticking at all. I have been using this skillet for over a year and the non stick surface is showing no wear at all. The skillet is completely immersible so I guess that would make it dishwasher safe although I have always just washed it by hand as I don't have a dishwasher. I am careful not to use metal utensils on itso it doesn't scratch the non stick surface. Its great for heating and taking right to the table for serving. It's true it doesn't have a vented lid while cooking but this hasn't been a problem for us. Just be careful of the steam when you remove the lid. The glass lid lets you see whats cooking, which is a very nice plus. The temperature dial is easy to read and the temperature seems pretty accurate, at least it always seems to cook our food quickly and evenly. I believe it is the standard temp dial going from 200 degrees on the low end to 400 degree on the high end with a setting for warm also. I paid $38.00 for the skillet which I think was well worth the price. I would recommend this skillet to anyone looking for a quality electric skillet.
